Pizza Menu- Help!

Katie, on August 18, 2020 at 11:41 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
So I’m planning to have a wood fired pizza truck cater our wedding. Pizza is an important part of our lives, and we couldn’t imagine our big day without it! Where we are struggling with the decision to do pizza is what other items should we have that won’t seem too heavy with pizza. The apps has us stumped! We thought about charcuterie but thought that might just be a lot of meat and cheese again. Salads are about all we could come up with but wasn’t sure if there was something more original! I’d appreciate any thoughts!

I agree with Melle, breadsticks. You could do like an olive oil dipping sauce to lighten them up a bit.

My go-to's when I plan events are the following (I do switch them up)

    Crudites

    Cheese and Crackers

Fresh cut fruit with a Yogurt or Chocolate fountain

    egg rolls (vegetarian)

    beef wellington

    kabobs (chicken /beef / vegetable)

    spanokopita

    fried wontons

events in FL include - conch fritters, crab patties and more seafood

I recently went to a black tie fund raiser and saw the following for their apps and loved the idea

"wall of apps" all single serve in cups to include:

    shrimp cocktail

    tuna salad

    tossed salad

    crab cakes

I agree with Jana. I would think salad, breadsticks and mozz sticks would be perfect.

I would consider doing salad, small chicken or beef skewers, and fresh cut fruit, or something of that nature. Also make sure to have a gluten free pizza option!

I had a wood-fired pizza truck at my wedding in June! For appetizers we had meatballs on skewers, caprese skewers, and bruschetta. With dinner (pizza) we served a fresh green salad. My guests raved about our food! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Baked chicken! Good those those who can’t do dairy or gluten.

A garden salad would be appreciated with pizza. Maybe a veggie tray but I don’t think it’s necessary.

I’m so jealous of you!!! We wanted to use a wood fired pizza truck to cater our wedding but because they were over an hour away they were going to cost a fortune. We did book with a local cater who will be doing pizza, pasta, salad, breadsticks, toasted ravioli, stuffed mushrooms, and artichoke dip.

Veggie platter with maybe hummus? Fig with goat cheese, some tasty brussel sprouts, bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, fruit platter, or the feta/watermelon combo. All can lighten it up without going to heavy on meat and cheese (though always love the meat and cheese)!
