Has the bride ever picked up her own cake the morning where she should just be focused on marrying her husband to be? I told my mom to designate someone to pick it up but she wont is this something i should make someone do?... i ordered my cake through sams club because my orginal baker just all of a sudden backed out.

I am picking mine up the morning on the way to the venue! It is saving me $100 for delivery and it is on my way.

I would not trust myself to do this. Cakes need to be kept at a cool temperature and stable otherwise they sweat and melt. Yes, frosting melts and loses its shape. Not to mention ruining the cake in transportation.

My venue makes us go through a certified baker who delivers because it's a consumable there is a liability that they don't take on. So double check with your venue make sure it's cool that your cake will be transported by someone who isn't trained in food safety. Because mine made it very clear that if the cake wasn't brought in by a professional they wouldn't serve it. I know it seems dramatic but I guess they have had problems in the past.

Your mom picking it it up makes more sense than you doing it...

You do NOT want to be messing with this the day of your wedding. If you don't want to pay a delivery fee, I would suggest having a trusted, responsible friend pick it up for you.
