We are planning a lunch reception after an 11am ceremony, but we would also really like to get photos done during golden hour. Our plan is to get our couples session photos done after the reception finishes, around 5pm so that we can get photos done for golden hour. Has anyone else done this before? We will most likely have a dance floor so I would get my makeup and hair retouched.

We're having an 11AM wedding with a lunch reception also!! I would love to have "golden hour" photos, unfortunately our reception ends at 3PM and since we're having a June wedding the golden hour wouldn't be until around 6PM so we would need the photographer to stay another 3 hours (which isn't in our budget). If you can make it work I'm sure it would be lovely!

We didn't have a morning/afternoon wedding but our golden hour pictures are some of my favorite of the whole evening so I'd recommend getting them for sure! We didn't even plan on them but our photographer saw we had a few moments of free time (when we sat down to eat) so we took them and our videographer came too.
