I just really want reception pictures

Look into deals like black friday or promo's, maybe go to open houses at venues to get entered for discounts or coupons, or check out weddingmix and see if you like that! Photos and videos from your guests put together for $500 into video form and edited

My photographer was my biggest priority. I had a lost of 3 photographers I would consider.
Luckily, I got my first choice by scheduling around her schedule.
I'm not sure about going rates in your area, but if you're talking a few hundred dollars extra, its probably worth it.

I am really looking at working my budget to afford the photographer i fell in love with! I love there work and I feel like they would capture my style

I felt really meh on spending so much money on photography until a friend of mine hired someone really cheap only for the pictures to come out where everyone looked green! She ended up getting back into her wedding dress after her honeymoon and having a friend retake some posed pictures because the "professional" pictures were so bad.

So it really is unfortunately an important endeavor.

I've seen brides only pay per hour and just have the photographer there for the ceremony and maybe pack in the big moments of the reception within the first hour. This would cut down on costs because you'd only be paying for two to three hours instead of 8 or 9 hours. Also make sure your photographer gives you the rights to the photos and that you don't have to pay for them afterwards.

I looked for other ways to cut costs so that I splurge on photography, I tried to go the inexpensive route but these photos will be treasured forever and decided to get what I thought was the best. I ended up getting 2 photographers for 10 hours for $2699(May special). Also, there are a lot of photographers that are willing to work with you and put a package together specially for you.

I am not sure where you are planning your wedding from but I highly recommend joining a Facebook group that has a major local city to where your wedding is being held. I joined a bride & groom advice for near where my wedding is being held and I was able to find a reasonably priced videographer by asking for quality but affordable ones in the discussion part of the group. I am sure you might be able to do the same for photography. Don't give up! I think you can find a reasonably priced but still quality photographer. Good luck!!!

Also, I have used the site thumbtack, the knot and weddingwire. I don't know if you have used these sites at all but it might be worth checking them out to see if you see any that you may like there.

Look on Instagram I had been following a few local photographers before I got engaged we never set a hard budget for photography but knew the ones who were $3,000+ were out. So many photographers follow other photographers in their area so I basically went down an Instagram black hole and end up finding my photographer. We lucked out because she’s been doing photography for years but not professionally so now that she’s made it a business she had great prices. We’re paying $1800 for a full day of photography plus her husband is in the business with her as her second shooter! It pays to do some Instagram digging there are so many photographers just starting out posting their work on there!
