Photography, worth the splurge?

From those who have been married, are wedding photos worth a splurge? We disagree on the importance of a photographer. He thinks that we will only have one or two printed photos of our wedding so hiring someone for maybe $200 who is average at best for the formal pictures only will be a good option....

We disagree on the importance of a photographer. He thinks that we will only have one or two printed photos of our wedding so hiring someone for maybe $200 who is average at best for the formal pictures only will be a good option. On the other hand I found a newer photographer to the area who will do all day coverage, edited photos, social media rights and engagement session for $2,000, less than what I currently have budgeted. Any ideas on if we should save or splurge?

When my FH asked what I wanted in a wedding the first thing I said was beautiful pictures --then awesome food lol.

I am having 2 shooters..thats how important photos are to me. I definitely think its worth the $$.

I always say splurge. We had a very tight budget and decided to splurge on photography to get some amazing photos. We only had 4 hours of coverage so we sacrificed some of the shots we wanted, but we got the important ones and amazing photos.

My priorities in order were 1) Photographer 2) Food 3) Alcohol 4) DJ. Splurge on the 2k photographer.

I haven't gotten married yet, but to me the photographer was the most important part of the wedding. I would definitely splurge, and $2000 is an awesome deal anyways. Don't do the $200 photographer, you'll be disappointed for sure!!

I'm gonna go with premier events. They have different packages to choice from. The one I'm going with is one of their highest priced. For $1750 I get 6 or 8 hours of photos and a really nice photo book made. You can also get a 2nd photographer for $75/hr. This is the best deal I've found so far.

Absolutely my number one priority! The right photographer will be able to do so much with preserving your memories and capturing your beautiful day!
