I booked with her at the end of April, shouldn't she have done this at that point? Not wait until 6 weeks before my wedding..I'm starting to wonder if I should just find a different photographer to ensure I have one for my date..and to avoid any last minute bails from her. What advice do you all have?

Do you have a contract?? If she committed to that date in writing, I don't think she has a leg to stand on. I'd get a full refund and find someone more professional. I'd also put her on blast so that other brides don't run into the same problems.

Your wedding date is my birthday :-)

That’s not professional at all. I would go look for someone else. That’s terrible. She should’ve known the day was a Friday. Makes it seem like you pulled a date out of a hat and it’s like yay sounds good whatever day of the week it is. Like no you definitely don’t want to have that photographer.

Your photographer can take off work to photograph your wedding on a day she committed to months ago. If you booked her on December 25th and she agreed it shouldn't matter that it's Christmas. It is her responsibility to know her schedule and availability - not yours. If you have any doubt that she will show up on that day (on time and ready to go), you should book someone else.

Thank you everyone for your advice, it is very much appreciated. I didn't know if I was overreacting or not.
We have found a different photographer to photograph our wedding.
