Photographer time length

Elizabeth , on July 22, 2019 at 10:26 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Hello! How long is everyone planning on having your photographer booked for? I see the one I'm looking at offers 7 hours and longer. I feel like that is a really long time. Any advice

We have our photographer for 6 hours, which is the length of our ceremony/reception. I have been thinking for a while that I might want to add an extra hour because I want to have her out shooting while we're getting ready, and I want to do a first look with my dad. I'm ok with her not being there until the end of the night though.

I think 7 hours is a great amount of time, depending on how long your even will be.

Thanks! Our actual wedding isnt going to be long but we want some family pictures, pictures of the wedding, and the big points at the reception. I am still not sure if I need a ton of pictures of us all getting our hair and stuff done

I believe we have our photographer for 7-8 hours. I really wanted to have her there for when we get ready all the way through the exit. Luckily our reception isn’t too long. But if we do need to add more time it shouldn’t be that bad.

I had mine for 8 hours! I think you just have to think about your schedule and what you want captured.

Our photographer was with us for almost 10 hours. He arrived at 1pm for our 5pm wedding. The reception contractually ended at 10:30 (but ended a bit later). One of the main reasons we liked him is that he doesn't charge by the hour. He actually wanted to come earlier than he did!

My photographer is with me beginning to end; so about 12 hours. He'll have 2 additional shooters with him as well.

We have ours (and an extra photographer) the whole day, and I plan to use her the whole day haha. I want getting ready pictures, and grand exit pictures, so that makes for a long day. Even if we skipped the getting ready photos, I still plan to do a first look and all the family photos and portraits before the ceremony, so photographers who were offering 5 hour packages just weren't going to cut it for us.

We are getting our photographers for 8-9 hours. We aren't doing a first look so we need someone to take pictures of us getting ready and all the details prior. We are also doing all our family photos prior. Ceremony is at 6 so we will get her starting at 3 and til the reception ends at 12.

I don't think that's long. I have two shooters for 8 hours. They are staying til the end 10pm (honestly don't care if they leave a half hour earlier it's nbd to me) because I just don't want them there earlier than the time I picked because of getting ready and not having to wake up earlier!

I only have my photographer for 4 hours due to budget restrictions, so she’ll be leaving the reception half an hour early. We don’t have any big send off planned, so I don’t foresee it being a problem.

We worked out a deal for 2 shooters for 9 hrs each.
As I am now planning the more detailed time line, i do wonder if I went a little overboard lol.
