We met with our photographer yesterday and it was the first time he met FH. After seeing us he suggested I consider wedges or heels because of our height difference (FH is 6'4" and I'm a little over 5'3") Is this really necessary? 1) our ceremony and reception are outside and on grass... 2) idk...

FH was best man in a wedding where there was about a foot difference in height between the bride and groom. When it came time for the kiss, FH grabbed a little wooden step stool and helped her up on it. It was really cute.

It drives me nuts that people think that the bride and groom have to have some ideal height difference between them--he's got to be taller than her, but not too much taller. I remember at my first wedding, a bridal consultant told me I should wear heels so I wouldn't be taller than the groom. I gave her "the look," and pointed out that I'd be taller than the groom even if I were in bare feet.

People come in all sorts of sizes, and the photographer should be able to work with that.
