Photographer help!!!

Ali, on August 10, 2019 at 3:21 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
Hi everyone! I cannot choose between two photographers. They are both about the same price!

Photographer 1:
Photographer 1 is in our minds a better photographer, her style matches what we want our photos to look like. She is exsperienced and organized. Shoots for 6 hours.. we can add time but it would be over our budget.

Photographer 2:
When I called photographer 2 we talked for 2 hours, she made me feel really comfortable. Her portfolio is good but doesn’t have as many examples of past weddings. She shoots for 9 hours and includes an engagement shoot!

Ultimately it comes down to what all you want photographed and what you can afford. I’d recommend the second photographer due to her being more in your budget and giving you more time but I understand your hesitation. Figure out what photos are the most important to you and add and extra 30m at least to however long you think you’ll need. Check all of those and see if you can get them within the 6 hours without stress. If so, go with photographer 1.

I say go for photographer 2. More “bang for your buck”.

I would go with photographer 2. I would do an engagement shoot just to try her out. So that way you know what style she shoots. But if you really love photographer 1, then go for it if you can afford it. I went with the photographer that I love and her style was what I fell in love with. I know this doesn’t really help but I would weigh my options if I was you.

Congratulations on your engagement Ali! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!!

Weighing up vendors and deciding what direction you would like to go can be tough so it’s really important to look at them both objectively.

Having an engagement shoot with the second photographer is a great way to find out how you will work with her and what her work is like.

What do you think of booking your engagement shoot with her and then, if you are not entirely happy with her work, you will be able to reassess your decision?
