@andrea Thumbtack is probably not the best site to find one.

Go to your local facebook groups and ask around.

This is awful and I'm sorry this happened. I hope you find something soon.

Both of the photographers are with the same company. Ive already requested to get my deposit back.. and Ive told the company that im no longer interested in using them. Im very displeased with the way they treat their customers. So now im on the hunt to find someone else. If all else fails i have a family member that does photography, i just didnt want them to have to be my photographer even though they've already offered.

That company does not hire very good employees then, I would leave a review so others can know about this company.

I like the idea of checking out facebook pages.

I am unsure why someone would say thumbtack would be a bad option, at this point you need to reach out through all means, when I used thumbtack I got responses back within hours, on one vendor it was minutes!

Use your fb pages, thumbtack, try georgestreet, lilly&lime is another business like georgestreet and also take advantage of this vendor tab. Do not waste time with emails if you use this vendor tab or use google. You need to call.

Whoa ... Amanda, I'm sorry this is happening. Thank you for giving the details. You should definitely get every penny back you gave them. If you are unable to hire a vendor, I'm so happy that you have a family member available.

Oh hell no!!!! Where do you live???

Our photographer canceled the DAY before. I found him on wedding wire had tons of great reviews. Apparently was fired from his fulltime job ( we were not aware he didn't do the photography fulltime). So he apparently had gotten a job interview several hours away the day of our wedding and canceled so he could go to the interview. He canceled a paying job for the possibility of a job. I was beyond pissed off. We did have a contract and he was apparently going to find us a replacement but our DOC said no, I don't trust anyone you would refer. So she found us one, whom she has worked with in the past. While I was grateful to have a replacement. I didn't feel like I knew them and wasn't that comfortable with them. He did refund our money but it took him over 10 days after the wedding to do so. So my advice is check with your other vendors and see if they've worked with anyone they might recommend.
