Check your contract. There should be something in there about what will happen in the event your photographer can't be there.

Take a deep breath. I don't think you have called them ALL but I understand you're in a bind. Does your contract with him say anything about in the event of a cancelation on their part? A lot of photographers would help you find a new one.

My coworker ended up hiring a photographer from a city about an hour and a half away. Are there any neighboring towns you could look in?

Your contract should say something about this. If it doesn't, are there any art schools near you? They may have students who could do it. Would it be a dream professional, no, but someone who really knows what they're doing with a fancy camera has to be better than random person X who only sorta knows what they're doing.

Try contacting one in a neighboring city.

Deep breath - call around some more, I am sure someone will be available.

I know the feeling of trying to call photographers and they aren't available. It feels like there's not a single one is. Keep searching. Make calls instead of emails, leave voicemails. Look at neighboring towns and cities. There will be people available. I know it's frustrating. Good luck!

Sorry this happened to you. Where are you located? Maybe some of us can help you. Also change the settings of this thread to allow vendors. One of the vendors on here might be able to suggest people in your area.

Get on Instagram or Twitter with #YourCityWeddingPhotography and similar hashtags. There are LOTS of photogs out there. I felt like I wasn't even looking for one and was constantly still solicited. Also, a FB status update asking for help works, too.

So sorry to hear this is happening to you! As previously suggested, look at neighboring towns/cities, you may have to pay a travel fee, but at least you will have a photographer. Check any local schools that offer photography classes, a teacher of the class might be able to direct you to someone they know. Also look online at any local photography clubs. As Noel555 suggested, turn to social media as well and get the word out there that you are looking. You never know who people in your friends lists have as connections.

I would try calling photographers not cities away but counties away too. I actually booked my photographer and he's on the west coast of Florida and I live on the east coast of Florida. Not only was he significantly cheaper but he also didn't mind traveling for a very reasonable fee and has been great! I'm sure you will fine someone - take a deep breath and just start looking a little further away from where you are having the wedding. You are not limited to only photographers that live in your area.

Also - depending on your budget - there are plenty of out-of-state photographers that are willing to travel to you, you'd just have to pay for those travel costs/lodging for them.

If they say no then ask them from recommendations. Also ask your other vendors for recommendations. They do so many weddings they know who is good. Also read your contract he might be obligated to find you someone new.

Did you have a contract? Usually they say they will provide someone if they aren't available.
