Photobook Guestbook?

KristnH, on March 29, 2013 at 7:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

I like the idea of having a hard cover photobook for our guestbook. Guests can just sign their name, or write us a little love note. I've seen that you can get these at so many places - Costco, Shutterfly, Mixbook, Walmart.... I can't decide where the best place to buy one is!

Anyone purchase a photobook and have a thought or recommendation on this?

I've gotten photo books from MyPublisher and Shutterfly. Shutterfly had a free book code yesterday, and they have some templates specifically to be used as guestbooks, so that's nice. They have square books.

MyPublisher is what I've used the most, they're books are simpler, they don't offer the embellishments that Shutterfly does, but they have constant deals to make books free. I've gotten more free book codes than I can make books. You can check them out on Facebook now and get a free pocket book to check them out.

I do this all the time for my couples using their engagement pictures as well as pictures they provide me of them as kids or from their relationship.

Of course I design mine and use a professional photo lab to print it for me. I have stopped by Walmart and their quality was not worth the paper it was printed on...literally. I have heard good things about Costco. Another place I always recommend for quality photography products is MPIX.com

@Just Reenski I looked at Shutterfly, and I don't really like the options and how their book creator thing worked. I've never heard of MyPublisher, but I'll definitely check it out.

@Nima my uncle works at a photo lab, so I wonder if he could print some sort of photo book for me? That's good to know about WalMart (doesn't surprise me), and Costco is great with everything else, so why not this right? I'll definitely check out MPIX.com as well.

I made a recipe book from mixbook with old family pics and recipes. My grandma and I did it for her children for Christmas one year. It was really easy to use and the quality is great. I used a groupon.

@Michelle picaboo and adorama are new websites to me, I'll check them out!

@FutureMrs.Snyder I would love to see a picture of your book!

@Beth yay for groupons! I love saving money Smiley winking

@Glenda I suppose with buy one, get one you could make a book for your parents or in-laws or something... it would be nice if you could buy one now and get one later to set up a wedding album afterward

I'm on Shutterfly and get offers from them somewhat often for a free book so I'll wait for that...

(I am planning to do the same thing, make a photo book to use as the guest book, but who knows when we'll ever get ephotos taken!)

@Glenda, go to their Facebook page -- https://www.facebook.com/mypublisher -- you get a free pocketbook from there. MyPublisher constantly has deals, including the Groupon Beth posted. I did our parents photo books on a BOGO, which saved me a good amount of money.

I like blurb better than shutterfly, because you have many more options for text. I considered this idea, but am going with something else. It's a great idea though! Smiley smile

@Meagabytes that's adorable, I love it! I'll definitely look into that one. Can I ask how much you spent on that lovely book, and how long it took to get to you? I'd love to connect with you to ask a couple questions on the layout you have on a couple pages too!

I think I paid 45.00 after a "retailmenot" coupon. But you can make them as expensive/cheap as you want. I upgraded and got an imagewrap sleeve & upgraded my paper.

I am not sure how to DM on here but you're more than welcome to e-mail me ************@*******.***
