Photo album best options?

Jolie, on December 9, 2019 at 8:43 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8
Besides Shutterfly, what are some other good options for both good quality and affordable photo albums? I’m not talking artifact uprising because those are hundreds of dollars a pop. Maybe for myself, but not two parent albums 😬 We still have a honeymoon to take and Christmas shopping to do! I started one on Shutterfly with the ‘make my service’ and it’s a decent starting point but I’m going to have to update every single thing, I might as well have made it from scratch myself. Any suggestions and/or good experiences?

I had a good experience with Mpix.com for my engagement photos Smiley smile the photobooks turned out really nice as did the prints! We chose to do the accordion photobooks as Christmas gifts for the family. All in all with 5 people to gift, with the 25% off on first order, we paid around 80 dollars with shipping.

We made our engagement photo album (which we are also doubling as our guest book) through Walmart! I also believe you can do one through Amazon as well. It’s definitely more affordable than some other places!

I used Mixbook for my parents albums. They are very similar to Shutterfly though. Shutterfly and Mixbook both have templates/layouts you can use. They both allow you to upload photos and the software will input the photos into your album. I choose to create the books on my own because I wanted things laid out a certain way. It took me a couple of days to completely them because I didn't want them to be identical. I am also a perfectionist. I got both books for $116.00, but that was when they were on a Black Friday sale for 55% off. I also selected the highest quality paper.

I looked into mixbook and I almost like it better than the Shutterfly layout. Shutterfly just gives me a blank layout with no preset designs or words on the pages. Mixbook has that which makes it easier for me to visualize it and base price has more pages than Shutterfly. Mixbook gave me a welcome half off and they still have some good deals going! Thanks!

I am not sure where you looked on Shutterfly, but they do offer preset designs like Mixbook. I picked Mixbook though because I got a calendar from Shutterfly and wasn't thrilled with the quality. Mixbook also offered more pages for less like you mentioned. I have since gotten a collage made through Shutterfly and loved it. I had given them a second chance and it was definitely worth it. Both I think are really comparable.

You could try checking Groupon for photo books deals. I haven't used it yet but I got a Groupon for 2 lay-flat albums from Picaboo on Cyber Monday for $33. They had good reviews so I'm hoping they turn out nice.

Maybe I clicked on the wrong thing? I clicked on simple path and selected a design but everything for Shutterfly is just gray and it puts the pictures in then can rearrange but it doesn’t start with the design on the pages, it’s just showing a gray template. The design is there when I got it “make my service” but I don’t wanna use the one they made for me, too much to fix.

In Shutterfly, if you want to do the simple path you click on that. Then it should take you into the book. At the top it should have four options: style, edit, arrange and options. If you click on Style it will give you a bunch of different templates to choose from. Once you go back to the editing page, on the left hand side of the screen there should be idea pages that give different options for laying out pages. When I was thinking about using Shutterfly I was going to do the custom path as it allows for more customization. Mixbook is simpler to use though.
