personalized votive candle holders as favors???

brandi, on June 29, 2011 at 8:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

I want to do personalized votive candle holders for favors with our names and date on them... Most places i've found that have them, i've read in their reviews that they actually just send you the holders and then stickers with the names and date that you have to stick on. I dont want stickers. Anyone know where i would be able to get them for a reasonable price? I've already looked into discountmugs.com...

This place sells them for $2.40 each. http://www.showyourlogo.com/Promotional-Gifts/Custom-Votive-Candles.htm

Personally, though, I'm not a fan of personalized household items as wedding gifts. As a guest, I just would never use a votive around my house with somebody else's name on it. Best of luck!

Depends where you are... Things Engraved does stuff like that, we buy that stuff just for our house all the time, but I live in Canada but I'm sure they deliver everywhere

I am doing basically the same thing. Ours will be a candle in the holder then putting them in a clear box with the personalized sticker on the box. This way people can use the candle and maybe put things in the box or throw it out lol. Either way, the holders can be reused anyway they want without our names and wedding dates in their face all the time. Candlesforless has the ones your looking for. Not sure your budget but here is the link.

Thanks, I will look in to them. I've never thought of personalized things as a bad idea but im just one person I guess. I want favors to be something people will actually use but I also want them to tie in with the wedding some how. We are getting married next year at the boulder ridge lodge in pa, late spring.

Well i've just recently started thinking about it (wedding is a year away) but I am thinking along the lines of rustic and spring oriented I guess you could say. The place we are having the reception is this big modern looking log building (i will include a pic) and the ceremony wil be right outside infront of a gazebo.

    Dude, that venue is awesome!

One thing with memento favors is to be ready to have a LOT left over. Either guests don't have room for them in their homes, or they forget to pick them up.

    Nice venue!!

It really depends on where you're from in the way of personalization IMO. Back home in NY, everybody I know has some knick-knack from somebody's wedding, baby shower, quincé, etc. But here in D.C. I never see those things in people's homes.

If you're worried about it, I'd do Susan's idea and put the personalized sticker on the box and leave the votive itself either plain or with a simply heart or ring design.

What a great idea! We offer shot glasses, drinkware, paperweights and vases, but nothing specifically for holding candles. I would recommend finding an award company that creates glass awards and specialty gift products. Etched glassware is not usually cheap, though. Just a single set of 4 shot glasses can cost up to $90 with custom etching. I hope you can find more something affordable. Screen printed glass would cost less.
