Personalized M&Ms.. How many?

*~WiiFeY~*, on March 16, 2011 at 8:34 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I kind of wanted to put these inside our favor jars. But I'm confused about how many to order. We want to put them in the jars (pics attached) and they're for about 200 people, may be less, but I'm shooting for 200 to have enough.

It says a 10 lb bag is $250! But I don't even know how much a 10 lb bag is? Have any of you ordered them and know how many I might need?

Okay.. And there's also 7 oz bags (shew!) and they're priced wayyy better lol

    1- 7oz bag: $17.99 a bag

    2- 7oz bags: $13.99 a bag

    3- 7oz bags: $11.99 a bag

And then there's also a 5 lb "bulk" bag for $129.99

It depends on how full you wanted to fill them. I originally wanted to use the M&Ms but they were just too expensive. I had little square boxes and I put 10 Hershey's Kisses in each one. My suggestion would be to go buy a bag of regular M&M's and see how far a bag would go, then figure it out from there. I'd assume about 20-30 M&Ms would fit in each of your little jars.
Oh and BTW, were you able to get the rest of the Jars with your bogus 'rain check' yesterday?

Good idea about buying regular M&Ms! Never thought of that Smiley smile

Well.. Here's the story: We got out of our counselling session late, at around 4:45 so I decided to risk it and call.. Well, actually FS called (because I was tired of dealing with them from the morning!) The woman answered and she got an attitude with him from the beginning. She said that the truck came earlier but they haven't unpacked anything yet. She said to try back tomorrow. He told her that we live almost 2 hours away and that we were in the area that night, and wouldn't be able to come back for a while. She then said "Sorry. But we aren't just going to unpack every box right now to look for your jars." So that pissed FS off and he hung up lol Soo.. I decided I wanted to go to Michael's anyway since we were nearby, because I wanted to get a foam wreath for my yarn wreath! So we went, and I went to the aisle with the favors, and the shelves were COMPLETELY stocked with ^^^those jars up there. (cont)

Not even the same ones I wanted! They "misunderstood" when I asked them about my jars, and the ones they saw coming in were those up there (the cylinder-like ones). Well, it just so happens I liked those better, but I definitely didn't tell them that lol So I bought all the ones they had, 8 of them, so I technically have enough, even though 2 packs are the round ones. I might just keep them though and mix them in, I doubt it'll be a big deal.

I was just so frustrated though because the ones I wanted and asked for and went through all of this for.. Were the wrong ones! And even though I liked them more, its still annoying.. Because what if I DIDN'T want those. I'd be pissed.

Overall that whole situation sucked. I'm glad you were able to get them when you went though! At least now you have some and can get started with your favors.

Oh and just FYI it's gonna work out to be cheaper to buy the M&M's in bulk. To get 5 lbs you'll have to buy between 11-12 7 oz. bags of M&M's, that works out to $131.89-143.88 (compared to 129.99 for bulk). Not too much difference but a little bit, and those little amounts add up after a while.
