Personalized coaster question

We were thinking about printing personalized coasters to be used during the reception. They will be great quality so guess can take them home with them! Because our guests are huge drinkers, (4-8 drinks per person throughout the night) how many coasters do you think I should order? Two per person?...

Guest count is 140

Thanks in advance!

@reallindseyo, tell me about the toilet paper as long as you tell me if there's something in my teeth.

Many people have told you that one per person is adequate. But you just want to complain that people are telling you this isn't usually a popular favor with guests.

@reallindseyo, one person told me how many before my "tantrum."

Now I'm up to 5, helpful answers.

Perhaps others just didn't format their response correctly to meet your criteria.

I would order "zero" per person, unless they are printed paper coasters, which I have seen at several weddings. People need a coaster and it's another place to remind people they are at your wedding. These types of printed paper items- coasters and napkins- went out years ago, however.

You said they will be great quality and that's a good thing. You will have lots left over to use in your own home for years to come.

Eh... I get what people are saying about saving money but if you have it to spend and you want to then who cares if you get personalized coasters. Some friends of mine got married last weekend... their budgets were both MUCH more than mine. They had a lot of things that feel extraneous and I wouldn't spend money on (because I don't have it!) but they were really cute and sweet and made the day that much more unique to them. If you want to, I would order two per person. I would take these home an duse them for a little until they got destroyed.

Would it be crazy expensive to put a person's name and table on it? If so, maybe that could be on one side and then on the other a design. They can flip it over and use it at home without staring at someone else's information. My sister recently went to a wedding that were personalised and stole a plethora because many were left. I think you'll have someone like her to even out the outcome haha. If each member of a family has one of his or her own then they would be taking home a set at least. I know if it has my name on it, too, I'm keeping it lol.

I would order 1 per person. However you may have a lot left over. I probably wouldn't take one. It's a know your crowd thing. I know my crowd loves koozies, so that's what we got.

Does your crowd use coasters? Get 1 per person if they do, if they do not, don't get them or get one per couple. I like the ones that say "don't take my drink, I'm dancing" or whatever

I went to a wedding where this was done and I did not like it. I love my cousin (it was her wedding), but I just don't need to be reminded of her wedding every time I set my drink down

I think that this is just wasted money on something that would end up in the garbage.

I probably wouldn't use coasters with another couples names on them in my home.

@ariella, we already have gold bell place card holders for names and table numbers.

@red, our guests are 85% cocktail or wine drinkers. We wanted coasted vs koozies for that reason.

My family recently moved my grandparents into assisted living. Before that happened we helped them clean out their entire home because they had to sell it. While cleaning the house, we found a box a personalized match books that my grandparents still had from their wedding day. I thought it was extremely adorable that they saved them for that long.

I'm not forcing people to keep coasters. Our feelings will not be hurt either way.

I would love these! I think 1 per person is fine. People can use them multiple times during the night.

Your feelings were obviously hurt when anyone told you not to do this because few people would take them.....

If you absolutely want them for the reception, get them. However, I wouldn't consider these as favors. I'd order a set number (the ones I've seen come in packs of 50 or 100) and then just have them at the bar or set out during cocktail hour or something for people to take/use throughout the night if wanted. Personally, I'd skip the favors completely or do something edible if you really want them.

I love these! FH and I always find ourselves running short on coasters when we host, so having a stash of extras would be nice! You put drinks on them--who cares if they have a wedding date. We have koozies from 3 or 4 weddings that we use all the time. Not strange at all.

I'm assuming these are made of glass or some other material that can withstand multiple uses. I think just one per person is completely fine.

I would also say one per person, however, I am in agreement that I don't think a ton of people would take them but it could be cool for people to use at the wedding if you don't mind people leaving them?

I am going to a wedding in three weeks for a very close friend of my FW and they are doing personalized coasters as well for favors. I will take it home but I am definitely not going to use it. I'll probably put it in my memory book because I am sentimental like that. One, we already have awesome coasters (that are all painted trees that I love) and two, I don't want to see other people's names and a wedding date on a coaster that doesn't match anything else. That is just me though, there might be other people who will use them. Just don't be surprised if there are a ton leftover that people don't take.

No Celia, do not tell me that my feelings were hurt because they weren't. You as well as sos0033 and reallindeyo constantly post replies without actually giving answers to people's questions.

I stick up for myself as I'm trying to get legitimate answers and I'm told I'm throwing a tantrum. Real opinions are great but not if an answer isn't anywhere in the response.

Instead I get snarky and I see snarky sooo often from you three.
