Personal Chef vs. Catering...HELP!

I am having a very small wedding, think 15 people, tops. I need help figuring out if it would be easier to have a caterer or a personal chef. What exactly does a caterer do? Do they plate the food? Serve? Help!!!

A cater will do any and all of it if you want. They're essentially the same for what you're looking for. They can serve it or do buffet line or whatever you're looking for. Start interviewing and go from there.

I went to a rehearsal dinner where the food was made by a personal chef and it was fabulous. It was served buffet style though.

I think either would be just fine, they'll do just about the same thing. You'll still need at least one or two servers.
