Period on Wedding Day

What would be the best possible way(s) to improve the wedding for a bride if she were on her period for her wedding? I still have a few months but though of this as a "what if" sort of situation.

I'm gonna have my period and my wedding will be falling on the worst day of the month. I envy those of you that can just deal with it! It is so heavy sometimes I have to change once an hour. I will be wearing the no leak period underwear in addition to a pad and tampon. I also get debilitating cramps, which I deal with by preloading with ibuprofen two days before. They kill the prostaglandins that cause uterine cramping and I find the cramps aren't as bad when I do that. I had to be on oral contraceptives for 2 years for a cyst issue, and it took over a year for my periods to normalize again once I stopped, and I don't want to do that again.

You could also try the thinx period panties as a backup! I have heard so many good things about those! Or a menstrual cup if you are up to getting used to how it feels and adjusting to it.

I love my menstrual cup and will use that if I happen to be on my period. My periods are super affected by stress though so I'm guessing it'll take a hike that month like it did when I first came to China. Has anyone here actually used the Thinx period panties? I almost bought some when they first came out but second guessed it.

I was due to have my period on my wedding day so I slowly adjusted it using my pills. I started my new pack one day early every month for six months until my period was scheduled to end a few days before my wedding day.

If you are on birth control, just skip the sugar pill week and start a new pack immediately. I've done that on a couple occasions where a vacation or important event fell on my period week.

Your dr can adjust your hormonal birth control prescription to help make sure your period doesn't fall on your wedding day.

I ended up adjusting my birth control months before the wedding so that I could ensure I didn't have my "period" that week. I ended up having my "period" a two weeks prior to the wedding. Not that it's the end of the world if you do have your period on your big day but my preference was not to deal with it.

I have an IUD, so I don't get a period at all, thankfully, but talk to your doctor about it. (I am also in the camp of "wouldn't be able to just suck it up and deal with it", and it is not OK to tell other women to do this about their periods.)

I second the Menstrual cup. It takes some getting used to, but so worth it. I have a terrible period because I take blood thinners. I was changing a super plus tampon every hour and had frequent leaking. With the cup I can't go the 12 hours but can go about 4 and only have leaks if it's not in correctly. I would never be able to "just deal with it" I have a huge ball gown!

Regarding the comment about the wedding night -

The night before the wedding is when I plan to give FH his little book of boudoir photos of me (which are to die for, btw. I love them.) And I just plan to get ready to get in the shower, say "oh hey I have a present for you" and give it to him so I can watch his reaction - and then have shower sex, because cleanup.
