People want us to rsvp for them?

The Sealpups, on June 2, 2019 at 1:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 5
I had a feeling (especially on my FH’s side) that people would say, “can we just tell you we’re coming?”, which is why I posted that as our FIRST question on our FAQ of the website.

Its only gone live for a day and 2 groups of families have already told my FH. Grrrr. And of course, he’s happy to do it bc it’s his family and I’ve been doing 99.9% of the planning. I just find it annoying bc it’s just one small thing they can do for us while I am still planning

I’m just venting right now. I don’t want to sweat the small stuff and I won’t. It’s just annoying. If anyone has any solutions (if there are any), I am open. Thanks

I had the same thing happen with a ton of my guests. Most of the older adults we sent paper invites to just wanted to tell us verbally. And even ones we sent email invites to we had to sort of chase down for an answer. People are terrible are responding sometimes. It is super annoying because it's like uh we want a reference to your RSVP
We had to ask again later on just to make sure
Also.. don't be surprised if people change their RSVPs.

We went through it with several of our guests. I was just glad to get a response by the end, didn't care the method they used.

It sounds like you already expected this so I’m not really sure there’s anything you can do except hope that at least the majority of guests don’t try to rsvp through you.

I totally understand! My sister had to deal with this (I was helping her plan) and it was so annoying. When you're planning this huge event, the least they can do is tick off a couple of boxes and stick it in the mailbox.

Are you doing online or paper RSVP? Because if you haven't ordered the paper RSVP cards yet I would defiantly recommend doing online RSVP and just linking the RSVP page in that FAQ.

Thank you for the responses, everyone! I forgot to add this important bit of information- we did send RSVP cards. In fact, we did those “all in one” invitations and gave people the option to mail the card back or send their answer through the website.
