Pens that work well on Shutterfly photobooks

Is the paper shiny like photo paper? If so you want something like Zig Photo Markers (try Amazon or an office supply store).

I used them for my alternative photo book (which was one of those letter name signs on photo paper) and they worked wonderfully. As long as it isn't smeared within the first 7 seconds or so (as it dries) it won't smudge!

We are doing sharpies... is that a bad idea? I didnt realize that I might need a specific pen

I have sharpies too... maybe I should have researched.

I emailed shutterfly before my wedding and they suggested plain old ballpoint pens. I ordered some engraved with our names.

Apparently not everyone minds having things engraved with other people's information because all 3 of the pens we had walked off.

I personally wouldn't do sharpies, even the thin ones end up looking thick. It just reminds me of high school yearbooks.

Andddd now I need to add engraved pens into my list of things I really shouldn't spend money on but "need"

I made a shutterfly photo guest book for my FSILs wedding a couple years ago and we used regular ball point pens, it worked great.

I would worry about Sharpies smearing or bleeding through.

After looking around I have seen multiple posts that say to use ballpoint pens. I also saw a lot that said sharpies worked well. Not sure what I'm going to do

You want an acid free pen tip. Sharpies can end up bleeding through the page a few years down the road. Email/chat with a Shutterfly rep. They will have a specific recommendation
