Peeing in a fitted dress

The one wedding related thing that I'm currently stressed about is how I'm going to pull off peeing in my fitted wedding dress. I can't pull it up over my hips, and it buttons in the back (very tedious). I'm wondering if anyone has any special tips and tricks/advice for me so that I don't have to...

I'm wondering if anyone has any special tips and tricks/advice for me so that I don't have to take it off completely every time I have to pee.

THANKS!

There has to be some wiggle room. I would say practice. Or like someone mentioned taking off the dress and putting it back on.... Or maybe you won't even have to pee.

I didn't pee all night. Granted it was only for 6 hours. I did have to go but tried and it just wasn't worth the hassle.

Once I start drinking, I definitely had to pee! I took my dress completely off to pee - I had my sister/MOH help me. Since the buttons on your dress make that not a good option, I second others suggesting that you are able to shimmy it up. You should be able to sit comfortably in your dress, so that should be enough wiggle room to get it up enough to pee. You will likely still need someone to help you manage the train/skirt.

I'm a nervous/excited bathroom goer, so of course I had to pee right before the ceremony.

It took my MOH and two of my BMs to help. I stood over the toilet facing backwards and peed while they held my dress. My dress was also super fitted through the hips and I couldn't actually bend down to take my underwear off...my MOH is a champ!

Pee right before you put on the dress, and then try to only sip your drinks the rest of the day, no guzzling. I actually practice peeing in my dress, but I never had to pee. If you do have to go, you're going to need to bring someone to the bathroom with you if you can't get your dress over your hips because you'll need to either unbutton it enough that you can pull it over your hips or take the dress completely off.

I, like others, also didn't have to pee once I put my dress on until I was back in the hotel and the wedding was over! I normally pee ALL THE TIME. Like, constantly. I have no idea but I guess I was just too busy having fun and enjoying it all to even notice if I had to go. To be honest, even once I was back in the hotel room and H had helped me out of my dress, I still didn't have to go but kind of forced myself to try b/c I knew it had been a LONG TIME by that point.

I know that doesn't help you but I just wanted to let you know that you never know - it could happen!

I didn't think of this before. Definitely going to do an invisible side zipper now. Thanks!

Have you had any alterations done to the dress? As a seamstress in a bridal shop if you can't lift the skirt over the hips it isn't fitted correctly. You can be in a fitted gown and have it lift so you can use the ladies room without having to get completely undress. The invisible zipper @Chivy mentions is an option but if your dress doesn't have SA to install one then it needs to be let out a little at the meeting of the skirt to bodice so that you can lift it.

This chick tried 4 different 'pee in while wearing your wedding dress' methods for us in 3 different types of wedding dresses--fit &flare, A line, and ball gown. (Very thoughtful of her)

Here's The Best Way To Pee In Your Wedding Dress Without Ruining Everything

    THE METHODS (she) TRIED:

    1. The Bridal Buddy: $67.95 (after shipping)

    2. A 38-gallon trash bag (as seen on Offbeat Bride): ~$8.00 for a box of 30.

    3. Sitting backward on the toilet, and having my skirt lifted from behind.

    4. Sitting normally on the toilet, and having someone lift my skirt from behind, and from the front.

Me: I just sat backwards on the toilet. When I drink I gotta pee, no apologizes!

Also, even if you could shimmy it up over your hips, you have to be careful of your train, so it was just easier to for me to sit backwards and not worry about the train/bustle falling in!

ETA, the link didn't work, probably because I'm on mobile. Google "how to pee in a fitted wedding dress". It's a BuzzFeed article.

    OMG @MsBMrsL, that's true friendship.

@OP - just practice and ask seamstress for advice. I wouldn't rely on not needing to go. How will you dance in it?
