Parent seating/ procession

OurAdventureBegins, on September 23, 2016 at 2:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hi guys, I'm sure someone on here will know better than I do- How are the parents of the groom, mother of the bride, and grandparents seated? Are they all part of the procession? All siblings of FH and I are in the bridal party so I don't have ushers. Do they just seat themselves along with the other guests? I'm lost. What are you doing?

I talked to my officiant yesterday and he said usually they will start with seating the grandparents, then the parents are seated, then the rest of the processions go (groomsmen, bridesmaids, bride). He said the seating of the grandparents is kinda the "the ceremony is about to start" hint.

Typically they process in first! So the processional music will start and the order will go grandparents, parents of the groom, then mother of the bride. Your mom can have anyone escort her in, or even have one of the groomsmen walk her down the aisle then loop back really quickly Smiley smile

OK, thanks for the clarification! That makes sense.
