I think it depends of the emotional feel that you want. I am choosing songs with words because of the meaning. We are using Love Me tender for the Grans and moms, I have not decided on the processional song yet. I am focusing on music that fits the style and feel of our ceremony. This is my second time around, but the first time, I used the instrumental version of my mother's favorite song.

I have actually never had parents and grandparents walk into the ceremony to "a song'. Usually, they come in to the ambient music that is going on for the guests to be seated, then me, then them. Then the first song starts for the bridal party, then a song for the bride/seconde groom

Are you having a small wedding party? There was a song for the parents at our wedding, but that was only because we didn't have a big bridal party. All of our music was instrumental. We had an outdoor ceremony with a classical guitarist. Our processional was as follows:

First song - all parents

Second song - officiant, best man, groom, maid of honor

Third song - bride

The first two songs were very traditional. My song was the only modern one and the guitarist had to learn it special for us. Turning Page by Sleeping at Last.
