Pantyhose??

Denee aka Now a Mrs, on December 17, 2010 at 1:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

My wedding is in a little over 4 weeks (yikes!!) and it's going to be soo cold!

I have an issue though about what to wear-as far as should I wear pantyhose.

I have peep-toe shoes and I am super pale.

I thought about getting a spray tan,but I'm pregnant and my skin has been super weird and sensitive this time.

I also was cursed with thick thighs (FH doesn't complain :p ) and I'm worried with all the walking and stuff that I might get chaffing with bare skin :/

I figured I might just get either sheer white or nude/light suntan colored pantyhose...What do you think?

Also,what should I have done pedicure-wise? French tip?natural?

Here's what my shoes look like:

They make pantyhose with open toes now so that you can still see your pedicure.

The seam would hide right under the bridge of your shoe. I got mine at a department store.

Love the shoes! you could go with knee or thigh highs but I'd steer clear of full out 'hose (remember going to the bathroom is going to be a challenge in itself)

They make some stockings with the toes out that are specifically for peep toes shoes. I know Berkshire has them its called the toeless style, im not sure about other brands.

What about open-toe pantyhose...or even spanks that just go down to the thigh to eliminate chaffing?

I would skip it all together. LOL But I HATE pantyhose! And if you think about it, you'll be moving around ALOT, wearing a heavy dress, you might get too hot with panty hose.

I'm probably going with the control top things that only come down to about the knee. I'll be inside most of the time anyway, there's just the short period when I have to leave the venue that I will actually have to go outside in the dress.

I went with what Genevieve said, I wore something like this but it actually came down to mid calf. It kept me warm, didn't mess with my open sandles, and had the benefit of smothing out my silhouette in my dress.

I went bare. i also have thick legs & i didn't have any chaffing... remember, you're going to be dancing so the sweat will give ya some lubricant, lol. seriously, i'd skip out on the 'hose.

Don't know what I'll be wearing under my outfit, but I know it won't be hose. I never could stand those things. They never fit me right. I used to (back in the day) wear bike shorts on top of my hose to keep them up where they belonged. I apparently have legs much too long to be able to wear hose. That's ok. I don't think I'd have liked them any better if they'd have fit right, though. lmao.

I was going to do the same as Konichiwa for my wedding with the Assets hose. They are good tights that come in nude and they almost always stay up, compared to spanks. This will hopfully smoth me out and help my figure. I do not want to wear a slip under my dress, but the dress is chiffon. So I am concerned that without the tights or something my dress will keep going between my legs. Not too pretty for a bride!!

@ Shannon I have the exact opposite problem I'm too short... especially for thru the torso.. the top of pantyhose goes clear up to my bra strap... so not attractive LOL

@Victoria - If you got some control top pantyhose you wouldn't have to wear a bra. Just pull those things right up over your girls and you're all set. Tell your hubby it's a new type of uni-tard on your wedding night.

In the old days, they called them bloomers. Ya know those leggins that came down about to the lower calf and had ruffles on the end. I had on some "long johns" on last week under a skirt because it was so cold. The wind blew up the skirt some and those long johns protected my legs.

Honestly no one will notice your feet much especially with that big beautiful dress. My neice also my flower girl wore open toe shoes and wore nude colored stockings it looks fine and no one notices. Keep your legs and feet nice and warm

How far along in your pregnancy are you? You might want to take into consideration the "tap dancing on the bladder" and check out Motherhood Maternity o to see what your options are.
