Pantyhose + Shapewear... Awkward

Do you need pantyhose? I would just skip them.

Like Hannah said, I would skip the pantyhose. I’m not even going to wear shape wear as my dress has a low back and I don’t want to have to deal with the exact issue you’re thinking about!

If your dress is floor length, skip the nylons. Shape-wear like that is meant to be worn by itself.

I'm very pale, have a dress that will show my legs, and just in general do like to wear hose with heels because they make it more comfortable/ less slippy.

Hmmm thigh highs would be an option... Guess I figured they may end up in a puddle at my feet. I can look into one of those belty things to attach. It's like getting dressed to be an astronaut out here with all the layers. Thanks for the option!

Most thigh highs stay up pretty well these days, even without a garter belt. I reckon that might be your best option.

Is the shapewear too slippery to put the pantyhose over it? If it is, or if it would be too difficult to pull them down while you have your dress on, maybe you could you make a hole in the pantyhose that lines up with the opening in the spanx? That way you could put them on under the spanx and then not think about them until you're ready to take all of it off.

I'm a pale blonde who burns on sight but I don't do hose/tights/etc at anytime and have never had an issue with legs sunburning and have accepted that I will never tan. I think I wore hose once when I was a kid under a dress and threw them away afterward. The thing that drove me crazy is that my feet slid all over in the shoes with hose as opposed to barefoot.


Thigh highs are an option. I'm sure they've designed them so they don't slip down on their own.
