Pantyhose or no pantyhose in November?

Valerie, on June 16, 2015 at 3:40 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

So my wedding is the beginning of November and I don't know if I should wear nylons/pantyhose or not. I have close toed suede blue shoes and my dress will be silk and teacup length (mid-calves). What do you think?

No pantyhose ever, at any time, for any reason.

They're like some sort of medieval torture device for legs.

Haha I know, I never normally wear them. I hate them. But we are doing some outdoor pictures so I was considering just wearing them for that part....maybe not though

    I'd skip them.

We're date twins. I'm not wearing them (in NJ for reference, so it's not going to be super warm). I only wear pantyhose to job interviews and super important presentations.

I wear tights all the time for work, but definitely wouldn't wear them for a wedding. Not my thing especially with a short dress. They're just not that comfortable.

Thank you all! I plan on NOT wearing them. I'm in Canada so November tends to be on the colder side but I'm sure my happiness and adrenaline will keep me warm...lol

Haha I'm the old granny here I guess. I wear pantyhose - super sheer thigh highs

Wedding dresses tend to be pretty warm in general.

Valerie, is your wedding ceremony/reception all indoors?

It is, but we are going to take some pictures outside. Otherwise, yes, all indoors.

I would wear them with a tea length skirt in November. I am always cold and don't love how white and freckled my bare legs are.

I wear them pretty often since it tends to get cold in the evenings here and I'm freezing easily anyway. I'm not sure I would want them at my wedding though. If you are, make sure they are a brand you have worn before so they won't start itching after a while.

For me the benefits they would provide wouldn't be even close to worth the discomfort they would cause. They make my stomach hurt and they're a pain. Plus worrying about snagging them...ugh. I say no. I think you'll be warm enough without. Smiley smile

I'm doing something very similar, my dress is just below the knees, but I don't plan to wear them, for multiple reasons.

They're uncomfortable. We're having the wedding at a park, and I'm worried enough about using the bathroom at a park without worrying about pantyhose. (Lol) I can never find any that fit, or they snag and run within the first 10 minutes.

If you don't normally wear them, I wouldn't. Be comfortable and free!!! Smiley laugh

I personally wear tights/nylons all winter long to work. I really don't find them uncomfortable in the least bit. I usually avoid the "control top" ones, as those are more uncomfortable. If you think they are uncomfortable don't wear them, but I think they are great for some extra warmth during cold months.
