Pantyhose and open toe/ peep toe shoes

Mercy, on September 7, 2016 at 1:34 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Hi House,

I searched to see if this has been discussed but I didn't find one.

So here it goes:

1) Is it okay to wear pantyhose underneath your wedding dress? Or is this dated?

2) Is it appropriate to wear it with open toe shoes?

I didn't think of this until my FMIL asked if I would be wearing one.

Honestly I haven't seen many brides wear pantyhose these days because the dresses are usually long. I didn't wear any. I wouldn't wear them with open toed shoes if you can see your shoes.

I don't think you need to wear pantyhose unless you are worried about being bare legged when he takes off the garter. Definitely do not wear with open toe shoes. Get different shoes if you are going to wear nylons.

I guess it's okay to wear pantyhose under your dress. It's up to you. Me however couldn't possibly stand the thought of it. I hate pantyhose and don't think they're necessary under a long dress (if you're wearing a long dress)

Absolutely not acceptable to wear pantyhose with open toed shoes. No. I don't care that they make sandal toe pantyhose. They don't go together.

I haven't seen pantyhose worn in a long time, but you are more than welcome to do it.

Yeah!! Thought so too. I don't think it's necessary honestly. Open toe panty hose or not. Thanks everyone, it just confirmed my thoughts...

Personally I think pantyhose would be uncomfortable, especially under a large/heavy dress! It's already difficult enough to dance and go to the restroom while in the dress, I can't imagine adding pantyhose to the situation! However, it's totally up to you and whatever makes you feel good.

No and No. I cringe every single time I see someone with open toe shoes and hose.

Yes to both but it's really about what makes you the most comfortable

DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT wear stockings with your wedding dress this is really outdated and when you look at the pictures you will regret it.
