Pants for bridesmaid??

Barbara, on December 2, 2015 at 9:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 38

Hi all! I am going crazy. I keep changing my mind on my bridesmaid dresses, color, length, design, and everything else. I am trying to make everyone happy, but now I just don't care. :-/ Has anyone heard of or seen bridesmaid wearing pants? I think I have fallen in love with the idea, but I haven't seen many 'real wedding' pictures of this.

Those look like rompers. The only thing about rompers is that they only tend to look good on people with a nice figure. I'm sure you could have yours wear pants and a nice top if that's what you really wanted.

    Edited:spelling.

I personally can't wear rompers. I would definitely ask my BP before just deciding on the rompers.

Rompers / jumpsuits are very body type specific. Maybe go with a 2 piece option.

I never considered these. They look nice. I would consider a pair of black slacks and a matching black blouse at this point as well, if people are worried about body types.

I like the rompers with a long blazer and the 2 piece pant suits. I am just in between. Here's the picture that made me head in this direction

2 of my bridesmaid are all in, but the last one is giving me issues. I don't think it would like right if two of my bridesmaid wore pants and the other had a dress, right?

I love when things are not matchy-matchy. They just have to be in sync with colors/shades/ hues. I think it would be fine if two wore pants and one had a dress. Why not let them be happy, they have different body types.

I LOVE the pants suits, by the way!

The 2 piece you posted is VERY cute! But I have never fit into a romper properly and would probably raise a fuss if a bride asked me to wear one because they are usually too short in the torso on me and would look terrible for pro pics.

I understand everyone's concern about the romper, because my body type is not fit for it either. I think I will go with the pant suits for two and dress for one.

Is the issue that your bridesmaids can't agree on one dress? I think it would look better if they all wore dresses, but each chose a dress that fits their figure. They can wear the same color, same length, same fabric, but different styles. I think having some in pants and some in dresses might look odd.

I always wear dresses for important occasions and when I attend a wedding. I would feel odd and awkward in pants, like I was at work.

I think if you like it, go for it! This is one of those wedding decisions that doesn't really affect your guests, and can be totally based on you and your BMs' preferences.

That being said, like Annakay mentioned, I'd feel like I was going to work if I was wearing dress pants. It doesn't scream "wedding" to me. And I love rompers, but they're super hard to pee in...it'd be tough for your BMs to have to wear them the entire day.

Only if they are okay with it, as a short pear-shaped person rompers just don't look good on me.

I think if it's what you want, that's fine. But like others said, discuss with BMs and go try some on. I have long legs and short torso so I always look like I have a beer gut in a romper because it's so bunchy in the middle. And not only do I want to look good, you probably don't want pro pics of ill-fitting outfits Smiley smile A cute pantsuit would be nice! Could you do a simple black dress or something to still keep it a dress?

I love rompers but they're not for every body type. The 2 piece suits are such a cute idea!

I agree with others that rompers might be hard unless everyone has a great figure. Just my personal opinion but I would find BM's in pants of any kind very odd. To each their own though!

My bridesmaids are all picking out their own outfits, so my sister found these awesome pants that she will be wearing. Now we are looking for a peplum top that will go well with the colors Smiley smile

I love the idea of pantsuits for bridesmaids--look to red carpet pics for style inspiration to avoid it feeling business-like. One thing to keep in mind is alterations. Getting a suit tailored to fit properly can get pretty expensive.
