Pampered Chef virtual shower

allyson, on December 29, 2016 at 8:06 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

My cousin-in-law sells Pampered Chef and offered to host one of those virtual parties as a sort of shower for me. I've never participated in one and therefore know nothing at all about how they work. Would this be considered gift-grabby (this is what I'm assuming) or is it a good way for my aunts, etc. that are spread across the country to participate in a shower? If you've ever been thrown a virtual shower, can you please let me know what it was like and what you liked or disliked about it? TIA!

What? No. Definitely not. It would be considered gift grabby by you and a hard sell by your cousin,

My step mother sells pampered chef and also offered to throw me a pampered chef shower. I passed. It felt like a very hard sell/self rewarding on her part since she financially benefits from the shower. I also didn't want to be limited by the pampered chef catalogue.

I also think, personally, that a big part of showers is the support and time spent with the women or people important to you. That is totally lost with a virtual shower.

I would personally decline something like this solely on the basis that Pampered Chef is a MLM business/pyramid scheme/ponzi scheme, and only causes financial difficulties for the sellers and hurts legitimate small businesses.

I won't support MLMs, I don't care who is selling their stuff.

    Trust your instincts!

I've been invited to 2 PC showers and declined both. The things are so expensive and someone besides the bride would be benefitting from the guests' purchases.
