Paging all vendors - writing reviews

I'm not a vendor, but one of mine asked us to copy/paste our review to Facebook. Another asked us to post it to Google.

I'd just ask them what they prefer.

Always very much appreciated! Google my business pages and Facebook pages are also nice, some may have listings on the knot. The one she I feature on my site I just copy and paste. Thanks for reviewing, honest reviews help the vendor and help prospective customers.

I think it would be more helpful to vary the reviews.

I ask for them to be placed on WW (very few do since most don't find me here) and Google.

Copy & pasting reviews are quite alright. Maybe specific vendors get most of their business through google, facebook, here, theknot. You could always ask them where they would like your review to go. It's nice to hear that you want to spread the word of their awesomeness! We need more positivity in this world like that.

Don't forget yelp! Not all vendors are on there but the ones who are have so few reviews.

I'm not a vendor, but I wrote on Facebook and also emailed them. 1 of my vendors included my review on their website.

Don't forget to email the vendor telling them how amazing their employee(s) were. I feel like employees usually only get called out when things go south. Make sure their manager knows they did a good job. Maybe they will get a raise or a thank you so they know they made a difference.

The same review is just fine.

I ask for here, The Knot, and Facebook. Yelp doesn't really vet their reviews; I never trust them. WW does, I don't know about the Knot.

The best reviews are specific; "My DJ found the obscure song that we requested", "My officiant suggested a Tequila sharing, which we loved!", "My photographer let us know about a great engagement site that no one knows about." Everyone showed up early, dressed appropriately and answered our pre-celebration calls and emails in record time.

Those are things that other people planning weddings love to hear.

Congrats, Senora R! Thank you for thinking of your vendors. I would recommend posting reviews on the biggies, the Wire, facebook, yelp and the knot. There is no need to turn this into a writing assignment, it's fine to cut and paste your reviews. Congrats again!

Thank you so much for all the advice! I am a big supporter of making sure people know when someone does an amazing job! (I think it might be the teacher in me, but I love telling people when they kick butt!) I'll definitely hit up all the places you guys said!
