Pagan/witchy Wedding

Sarah, on May 10, 2020 at 12:02 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 2

Anyone here also Pagan and having a Pagan ceremony? I'm a Witch and a HPS and he's a Hermeticist and Mason, so those are going to be two important parts of our ceremony. Our faith is incredibly important to us, but the majority of our blood families don't follow the same. Our friends/chosen family do though. Tell me your experiences. Smiley smile

Not so much pagan, but I’m Buddhist practicing in the Zen tradition. My FH is agnostic. I simply asked to have a Buddhist prayer for our ceremony and he said he would be happy to have more Buddhist traditions since it’s important to me.
So we’re coming up with some elements and traditions together as well as integrating Buddhist traditions.
We will have a Buddhist altar and have guests pick and bring a flower to place at the altar as an offering. We’re also going to ask our guests to pass and bless the rings setting an intention. We have two Buddhist wedding prayers selected as well as a Meta-meditation for everyone to participate in if they choose. Lastly my Sensei who is a Buddhist priest and will be officiating will bless and present Mala beads to bind our hands, similar to handfasting. Of course we will exchange rings, exchange vows, kiss, etc.

Also our friends and family don’t necessarily practice Zen Buddhism.
