Hey ladies!
Currently up late. Stressing about our upcoming wedding on September 7th, 2019... With my almost 2 year old son who doesn’t seem to want to go to bed. 🙃 (please bare with me while I rant)
With that being said i am feeling so far behind with little to no help from my bridesmaids.
I have not found a photographer, videographer, or a D.J. The lady I had booked for hair & makeup isn’t able to do it now. None of my bridesmaids have even got together with me on everything or even looked at dresses. I decided on creating a wedding website instead of sending out save the dates to help us budget more on the wedding. About 25% of my guests have actually responded to it. I still haven’t even figured out invitations or where to go for the best deal.. but I did buy 200 stamps for them. 😂

I have my dress, venue paid for, the bridal table centerpieces done, Cake booked, guest book, cake knife set, etc. stuff I’ve came a crossed an bought cater booked.

Im just really stressed out that I’m really far behind. Is there any other brides with any advice on anything? Sorry if this was all to much. I don’t really see a lot of people going into much detail but I don’t know what to do anymore. Every time I try to get ahead it’s like I get pushed back 10 steps back. 😩

Rent ALL of this. go to a party supply rental and see what they have available. Also, double check with your venue and caterer to see if they supply any of these items.

With that being said- YOU CAN DO THIS. I booked and planned my entire wedding in the first 3 weeks of our engagement. Photographer took the longest to find and it stressed me out only having 9 months to plan everything. Now I just have to pay everything off and do the small details. So what I recommend, is google local photographers. Have enough put back for the deposit so when you do talk to them, you can offer them payment upfront. I found that photographers would schedule a date and time to meet but would book up my date before meeting them. If I could go back and redo it- I would have paid for the deposit on the first day I spoke with my preferred photographer, just to hold my spot. You don't NEED a videographer... we would all love to have one, but it's a lot of money when your already paying for pictures. So- if this is a MUST HAVE- look into companies that do video AND photography. But it is not going to be cheap.... at all. DJ is easy- call up everyone in your area and offer to pay them the deposit same day so they don't book your date. As for hair- every girl knows someone... if you don't one of you BMs will. Even if it's a friend of a friend or someone you grew up with that went to hair school but lives an hour away. YOU CAN DO THIS. Because if you don't... it won't get done! Find the motivation, buckle down, and spend just one day getting these vendors in order. It is so stressful but you will feel more relieved once it's taken care of.

GOOD LUCK! And if you need actual help, PM me. I'm awesome at planning Smiley smile

You can google event rental companies in your area. In my area, there are places where you can get everything from one place. That's what I would look for.

For bridesmaid dresses, check out Azazie.com. They have an amazing selection of dresses. You can go in and create an account, then choose your favorites and create a showroom. Once you do that, you can email the showroom to all of your bridesmaids, and they can choose their dress from your selection of favorites. They can even do at-home try ons if they want.

Try not to stress too much. You're doing great!!

Ask other vendors and your venue for referrals. They work within the circle of wedding all the time and can tell you who is the best. Also assign the duty of finding the DJ, Photographer /videographer to you FH. That was my FH main duty so I could stress over all the other fun details.

My wedding is September 21st 2019! We have venue, caterer, photographer, hair and make up, and DJ booked we are still trying to book a bar service and desserts. You are in good shape! Just focus on the big things first, get your photographer and videographer booked, and hair and make up. If you are having trouble finding an affordable one or availability ask family or other friends if they know of anyone that will help out. Last wedding I was in my sister and sisters friend came and did every ones hair and most people did their own make up. Also we are using disposable plates. You can get nice ones from amazon or look in your area to see if someone will rent them. Most places you'll have to pay for an insurance for using them in case something gets broken but its usually pretty inexpensive. You can get silverware on amazon too for a decent price. Another website to order table cloths from is tableclothfactory.com I've ordered from them before really reasonable and good quality. I am going to look there to order mine. We are doing fake flowers and the only arrangement I have put together is my bouquet. I have to do 5 more for my girls and then the mens, and the moms. And 30 center pieces.

As for your bridesmaids not being involved sometimes you have to just take the first step and tell them what you need done. Start a group chat and see what days they are available to go dress shopping if you cant get them all together just take you MOH to pick out the dress for everyone. We just ordered ours and the shop told us 3-4 months roughly for them to come in. If I was you, id get these ordered sooner rather then later. You want everyone to have enough time to get alterations done. Are you going to have a bridal shower and a bachelorette party? Maybe touch base on that with your girls as well and see where they are at with planning. I like to know things so my MOH is probably getting driven nuts because I keep asking her questions.

I just sent save the dates out like 2 weeks ago, the check list on here says i was behind too, I haven't even ordered my invites yet. I figured as long as they are out 2 months prior that's plenty of time.

Try not to stress! I know its hard but you got this! And even if things don't go as planned, no one will know besides you! Just try and enjoy the planning

What ounce stamps did you buy? When you order your stationary for invites order only 1 at first. Put the invitation together along with any inserts you plan to use. Take this to the post office and have it weighed in the envelope. You want to make sure the stamps you have are sufficient for the weight of the invitation. If not you would either need to buy alternative invitations, downsize inserts, go to a thinner paper, or buy additional stamps. That is a headache you can avoid in advance before you order your invitations in bulk

You’re not far behind. You’ve booked a lot already. I would say set a timeline and stick to it. That’ll help you plan. Get the photographer next as those tend to book up somewhat quickly. Then get with your bridesmaids and let them know your frustrations and that’ll hopefully kick things into gear with them. Good luck!
