I think I'm going to end up overbudget when I do alterations on my dress (I budgeted one amount for the dress + alterations, and I'm sure it will be a little more). I would try to see if there are places in your budget where you can cut costs elsewhere, maybe stocking your own bar as opposed to hiring a bartending service (if your venue allows)? This was a big one for us, we'll save at least $700.

I’m in the same boat! Definitely a lot over budget. But you only get married once (hopefully! lol) so it should be exactly what you want!

I’m one of the lucky few who’s coming in way under budget so far!

We're under budget at this point but I think we'll get a bit closer over the next couple of weeks. Still should end up under!

Yup! Our original budget was about $18.5K for our DW + local reception... we spent close to $30K. 😱 We underestimated stuff, DIY cost us 3x more, and then we decided to spend more on certain areas. One of the killers was that for our local reception we budgeted $1,500 for a band... we spent $3,300 on a band + an impersonator my hubby wanted THEN he told me we needed staging/lighting rentals and to hire an audio tech... another $1,000. 🤯🤬 It was all worth it in the end but I had a meltdown a few times over budget!

I am over budget for sure, however, that's my own fault. I was very naive on how much things ACTUALLY cost lol.

I just got my first venue quote and after fees and everything I had to up my budget. To be fair my FH gave me a large budget gap( spending between x and y). My fear is that we will end up spending way more than I want to on the whole wedding. The venue is also an all inclusive so it does take care of ceremony, reception, food, drinks, cake, dj, invitations, and half of my centerpieces. So it is worth the money.

We would’ve been underbudget but losing our photographer and catering we had to spend a lot more for last minute replacements, so our $2500 budget doubled to $5000. That’s still really cheap for a wedding! No regrets.

I should edit and note that my goal is to keep the entire wedding cost under $10,000.

I did aha. I didn't go over by too much but I definitely did. I think it's normal - a lot of times we don't realize how expensive some things are or that we want other things or we unexpectedly have to buy little things that add up

Yes, we are over budget. Although, everything is in agreement. Have fun and try not to stress! If you are still okay financially you are good!

We were a couple hundred dollars under budget. It was just a question that if one thing went over budget, we didn't have it unless we could find something else to keep under budget. Then again, our budget was serious for us; we didn't have a lot of savings that would have allowed us to go over.

Yes!!!! Me! I am trying to stay within budget but things seem to just start snowballing and before you know it BAM you blew through your budget and still have more major vendors to book. It's insane!
