Outer Banks Beach Wedding

Chelsi, on June 15, 2020 at 5:03 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 6

Hello all!

I wanted get some recommendations please. We had to cancel our family wedding so we decided to elope to the outer banks, just us and out two younger children, 5 and 7 so literally no guest list. So I need some recommendations on beautiful places to hold the ceremony on the beach somewhere. One of my priorities is to walk away with beautiful pictures. I have never even been to the outer banks so I have no clue. We are actually staying in Carova 4x4 beach, but doesn't necessarily have to be there, but would probably be better to not go too far south (Maybe between Carova and Corolla). I would love to have some beautiful contrast to the pictures, as just a plain beach can look kind of flat in photos. Any ideas would be so appreciated. Thank you, starting from scratch again.

    Hi Chelsi,

I looked up a couple things. I'm not sure about distance but I'm hoping maybe the following links will be able to help you out a little bit. You might be able to reach out to someone through these sites and see if they can actually recommend something as well. Good luck!

Duck, NC!!! There are public beach access in the back of neighborhoods, and quaint restaurants on the “sound side” where you can eat outside afterwards. It’s way less touristy and pretty than Nags Head.

My recommendation: 1. Head to Duck. Turn right on Poteskeet Rd. Follow it all the way back and have someone drop the small group off at the beach access walkway that comes up between two residences Can have small ceremony on ocean beach.2. Have dinner/meal after at “NC Coast” outside overlooking the sound-side. Sunset is stunning. I’ll try and post a pic of our dinner there from two weeks ago.
    3. If you need a bakery or awesome breakfast/donut shop, go to Tullios. It’s on the corner of Poteskeet and Duck Rd. 4. There’s a boardwalk that runs allllllll behind the restaurants and shops on the sound side. Another great photo op location, ESPECIALLY at sunset since the sun sets on the sound side, not ocean side.
