Outdoor wedding- Tent Size

Hi! Those of you that did the “backyard” outdoor tent receptions.. what size tent did you have. I’m starting to second guess our tent size. We are expecting roughly 215 people and are using rectangular farmhouse tables as seating (each seat 8 but we may push them together to seat 18 at each) We went with a 40’ x 80’ tent. Do you think we will have enough space?

I think you should be ok. I would ask the person you are renting from because I’m sure they have some experience with this. Good luck.

Rental companies are more than willing to let you know exactly how large a tent you need based on what you are putting inside (long tables, etc). The tent rental places will even come out and look at the space and measure (for free) so have them do that to de-stress yourself.

Hey Taylor!! As the PPs suggested, talk to the company that you will hire your tent from. They will be able to offer a really good estimate as long as you are able to tell them your guest count and what you are planning to have inside the tent. Some companies even offer to do a site visit so they can recommend somewhere specifically for your space.
