Outdoor Wedding.. No Aisle Runner

Who else is not having an aisle runner for their outdoor wedding? Or has been to a wedding they didn't have one? If so what did they do instead? I'm thinking of putting flower petals down both sides of the aisle. I didn't want anyone to trip walking...and I decided to cut it to save on cost. I'm...

We didn't have a runner. Instead I crafted these cardstock paper hearts with wooden dowels and lined the aisle with those. Cost about $10!

I've seen weddings done with no runner, runner and flower petals. I honestly think it looked fine either way.

This makes me think of the wedding of a former friend that I attended several years ago. The processional was stopped for like 5 minutes for her "helpers" to roll out the aisle runner. She did it this way instead of putting it out beforehand because she only wanted the BRIDE to walk to on it, not her lowly wedding party. As long as you don't do this, I think you'll be fine.

We're skipping it. I think most look tacky and cheap and if they don't it's not worth the money. My mom made cute arrangements to go on the pews lining the aisle (our outdoor ceremony has antique wooden pews)

I've also seen people use a stencil (heart shaped) with chalk powder or flour to line the walkway

I also am having an outdoor ceremony and am not planning on an aisle runner. I am hanging giant pinecones (think over a foot long) from the aisle chairs with bows on them to define the aisle. Runners seem kind of dangerous and not necessary.

My cousin didn't do an aisle runner, but she had gallons she walked thru.

We can't do petals at our venue so I'm hoping to find 2 narrow petal runners to line the sides of the aisle next to the chairs.

We are lining the aisle with pinwheels, which will also save on renting shepherds hooks and flowers!
