Outdoor wedding in November?

Christine, on August 24, 2016 at 10:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

Hey all,

I recently fell in love with a venue in Boca Raton, but it would be all outdoor (ceremony and reception). I am worried about the temperature and it being uncomfortable for guests. Do you think a November wedding would be okay, or will my guests be sweating in their formal wear? I am looking up average temperatures, but I know it's still a gamble. :-/

I would always suggest having a Plan B since weather is so unpredictable. A tent, inside area with A/C, fans, whatever.

You should be fine. I too am having my wedding in November in Hollywood, FL. The weather in south FL in November is very nice. Just ensure you have a back-up location in case of rain.

You can look up actual weather history back about 25 years, so check what the real weather has been instead of averages across the whole month! Early Nov can be 30 degrees warmer than Thanksgiving in many areas.

November is a nice time of year for an outdoor wedding in south Florida. I am trying to think where it would be taking place since there aren't to many outdoor wedding venues in Boca, but Im going to guess Morikami Japanese Gardens, which is actually in Delray right on the border. My experience with that location is that they have a lot of ponds and large lake, which creates a pretty significant mosquito issue year round there. I would give our repellent and take into consideration any guests that might be pregnant or trying with this Zika outbreak. Good luck and have a blast. Feel free to ask me any questions, I love helping...

    Thanks

Honestly it depends on what part of November. Late November will be gorgeous! Should be dry as well. Early November is still on the hot side.

November is usually pretty nice down here. If it's early November it could still be in the mid to low 80's, but towards the end of the month it should be pretty nice. Either way, it's definitely not as brutal as our Summer. Most Florida brides that have outdoor weddings usually start in November, as that is when the weather is starting to cool off. So it should be fine, but have a backup plan just in case.

My wedding is in Miami Florida. It will be outside ceremony but I'm keeping it short then indoor reception. From my last experience (prior to moving) late October and November have actually still been very hot and humid. I'd suggest indoor but I'm also saying this since I moved from Florida 2 years ago anywhere from 75-60 is no longer cold to me it's hot now lol. Just remember it is pretty hot and humid and weather in south Florida has been pretty hot(again prior to moving). I remember when 60 was freezing now it's just nice for me.

I'm getting married in Missouri in November, hopefully outside. But I will have a backup indoor location decorated and ready to use if the temperature is anything near uncomfortable for my guests.

Our Plan A is inside - but in the off chance it gets over 60 that day we are moving the ceremony outside into the vineyard. South Florida should be fine. We are honeymooning in Clearwater and the temps look to be in the high 70s, low 80s in November. Just be weary of hurricane season. Might want to get some sort of insurance.

November is usually nice down here. But last year was unusually hot. I didnt really feel a cool down til late January. Wasnt happy about that since that's the main reason I picked a winter date. We're not outside but I want to take photos outdoors without sweating to death.
