Outdoor wedding ceremony in the summer in Houston, Texas

Richaelyn, on February 21, 2021 at 3:38 AM Posted in Texas Planning 0 9
Hello everyone! I would like y’all advice on something. I’m in the process of moving my date to late June or July and it’ll be taking place in Houston, Texas. My fiancé and I really want to get married in front of the this gazebo at our venue but, I’m afraid it’ll be too hot. Our ceremony will be starting at 7pm on a Friday so, I’m hoping the heat won’t be too bad. The area also has trees that’ll provide some shade for guests. We will only have the ceremony outside (which will take about 30 mins or less), no cocktail hour and the reception will be indoor. We will be providing fans and possibly water (I’m afraid to hear crackling water bottles during the ceremony). What do y’all think? Would it be possible or too hot for our guests? Btw, our venue has a back up indoor ceremony option if it’s raining or too hot. Outdoor wedding ceremony in the summer in Houston, Texas 1

I'm stuck on the crackling water bottles comment. I think you're over thinking things there. I doubt anyone would hear a water bottle except maybe the person using it

I think it would be helpful if you tell us what your "too hot" threshold is. Also, I think taking humidity into account is key, especially for the ladies

Is there somewhere shaded or air-conditioned where your guests can hang out before the ceremony? Just because a lot of guests arrive 20-30 minutes early!

I’ve been to an outdoor wedding in Houston during that time. Your guests will definitely sweat, but the ceremony is short enough that it won’t be too bad. Ultimately, I would do what you want. Agree with the prior post that it would be nice if they could wait for the ceremony in the a/c.

I’m currently in Houston and can say the June and July aren’t so bad once the sun goes down. It could be in the 70s or low 80s but won’t be as bad as if you have it with the blaring sun out. Also, ask the venue as well. They might have some suggestions to beat the heat.

Yeah I think so too. Now, my fiancé got a better job so we might be able to pay for the beautiful, bigger, indoor ceremony room. ☺️ That way, the outside heat, and humidity won’t be a problem or the mosquitoes 😂

Hi! I’m late for the party 🤣
    Congratulations!

Im a new bride, I’m just starting to check in venues. I love the pictures you shared. Do you mind if I ask you the name of the venue?

Thank you. Congratulations to you as well. Sorry, I’m just now seeing your message. The name of my venue is called “Mona Lisa Events at Le Jardin”. The address is 17103 Bamwood Rd, Houston, TX 77090. I recommended this venue 100%. It is an all inclusive venue and the pricing is good for how much you get. Happy planning!
