Outdoor Venues -- Don't do it!

Here is my piece of advice to all future brides. If you are considering an all-outdoor venue for your ceremony, don't. I thought it was such a great idea, and we specifically chose the time of year most likely (historically speaking) to have good weather. However, it has proven to have been nothing but a stress inducing nightmare. A month ago, I was worrying that it would be way too hot, and our guests would be passing out from heat stroke. A week or so ago, things got really bad here in WA state due to the drought, and I was dealing with the possibility of our venue literally being on fire. Now, 6 days out, and the forecast shows 60% chance of rain and thunderstorms on our wedding day. Yeah, not a happy bride right now.

@LisaKitty - there is still a week so there is still hope! Tell us about your plan B and maybe we can make some suggestions to improve it?

We're planning an outdoor ceremony, knowing that inclement weather is a possibility. That's why we have a beautiful backup plan. If you have a plan B I wouldn't stress. Either way you get to marry the love of your life, so nothing else matters Smiley smile

I didn't see anyone call you an idiot, Lisa.

They called for rain all the way up until two days for our wedding then changed to overcast and miserable. Our day turned out gorgeous with not a cloud in the sky. Weather can change with the quickness so try not to stress out about it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!! I'm getting married the day before you (eek!) and we are north of Boston and weather here is looking sunny and perfect. However we went with this venue specifically because they had a good plan B due to weather

I don't see anyone calling you an idiot, just a general consensus that an outdoor wedding plan needs to have a good plan b just in case.
