Outdoor october wedding

Mable, on May 22, 2019 at 4:02 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Our venue will be outside i know you all are probably thinking im crazy but all our (20) guest are local and know what to expect for an october moutain wedding. I was thinking of throws for ceremony but they are pricey what are your thoughts of mismatched throws for use not favors. We will be spending the extra money on some tabletop heaters and diy firebowls for the outdoor reception

Throws would be such a great idea! I would look at places such as 4imprint for bulk orders.

I think with such a small intimate wedding mismatched throws (I assume ones you own already) for use not as favors would be fine. I’ve seen lots of posts from people getting bulk orders of throws pretty cheap (under $3/each), one site I saw recommended was https://www.dollardays.com/sitesearch.aspx?pg=1&terms=Throw

I love the idea of firebowls too! People get married in the mountains in the snow here in CO when it’s below freezing, October is still pretty nice comparably, definitely not crazy!

Honestly if there similar to your wedding color but not matching nobody will even notice. I think it's a great idea!
I'm doing a new England beach wedding in October, it could be 70, it could be 40, so I'm loving the throw blankets idea

I love it and might copy the DIY fire bowl centerpiece idea! In fact, I think I need a couple for my backyard!

Colorado weather is definitely unpredictable, I mean snow on May 21st, and mountain weather can change multiple times within the same day. I've been in the mountains and had it be hot and sunny, clouds roll in, downpour for 10 minutes, then the sun came back out and it got hot again. Where in the mountains are you planning to get married? We initially look at RMNP, but decided Breckenridge because it is where we took our first trip together and where he proposed. I'm in a similar spot hoping for good weather, but both September and October have a fairly good chance of being dry. It's so hard to predict even a week in advance though! That's one of my biggest concerns; I am planning an outdoor ceremony and we really don't have a backup if it is raining. I guess I'll be busting out my Beauty and the Beast umbrella, or buying some clear ones if the probability is high for precipitation!

We found the prefect cabin for us and our guest to stay in for the weekend around vega state park. We are in gj or i would of loved to do Breckenridge such a gorgeous area. I dont think all of our guest would want to travel 3hrs since we are all right here. FFIL is the only one traveling from OK. They dont allow weddings at the cabin but we have talked with him and are meeting with him in a couple weeks we are hoping he will make an exception since its so small. He didntell us he would love to host us, just not sure if he meant we could hold it there or just stay during our celebration either way is fine with us. If not our back up is the state park area that can be rented for only $80 and we can still enjoy all the amenities the cabin has to offer( canoes, kayaks row boat, mountian bike, skis, ect... Everything you could need for a outdoor adventure! Only 9 of our guest will not be staying with us. I love the idea of the clear unbrellas. I didnt even think about rain lol just cold haha. The park told me not to be suprised if they have snow on the ground. But i have looked at the past 4 years of weather there no snow but temp. Ranging from 40 to 80

I’ve only been on the western slope once, my uncle moved to GJ after the divorce and we visited a couple years ago. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you that you can host your wedding at the cabin, I think a few people tend to ruin it for others so hopefully once he meets you guys he’ll take that into consideration. I’m not used to western slope weather, but 40-80 seems like a huge range! Either way it sounds like you’ll have a blast with all the gear provided at the cabin. I’m hoping to take my guests up the gondola and Colorado super chair- but my mom is terrified of heights so we’ll see! Hope your meeting goes well!!
