Out of state wedding marriage license

Melissa, on March 20, 2020 at 3:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello everyone! I have a question, I live in NY and am getting married in Florida by my Uncle who also lives in NY, does anyone know from experience, what the deal is with the marriage license? Like do I have to get one for both states? Thanks for your help!

I would go on the specific county courts website and read up the process. Eg Orange County Polk County
    Hillsborough County
    Duval County

You get the marriage license in the state (and usually county) that the ceremony will be held. Also, make sure you check the laws in Florida to ensure your uncle can legally perform the ceremony.

The PP is correct. We got married in FL and live out of state. You have to go to the county where the ceremony will be performed to get your license.
