Congratulations 🍾🎉🎈 I just got engaged for Christmas and our date is 18months out I’m a bit nervous thinking can I really pull this off in 18months!!! Weddings are so expensive catering seems to be the bulk of the cost not to include bar my original guest list went from 75 to now 125 but thinking who do I cut off this list ugh so many decisions any tips for the newly engaged and just started to plan . Thank you
You can definitely do this !! Costs can be a bit overwhelming for sure. I think the best bet is to compare wedding venues - some have an all inclusive package (photographer, flowers. food, bar) that can either be more expensive or less expensive than booking everything separately... so do you homework on that. THE biggest cut you can make, unfortunately IS the guest list. You and FH REALLY need to sit down and decide who you just can NOT imagine your day without. Think 2 years down the line - are they still going to be in your life? Like, I thought I'd include our neighbors, because we see them at the pool and community center a lot ..... but now we are moving to a new home and I know that those friendships will wane. Same with co-workers. it's nice to think about inviting them, but I'm sure a fun house party as an after celebration would be just as nice (for them). I am not using flowers as centerpieces, and WOW that saved over $1500.00. Don't always think buffets are cheaper - our venue offered the plated meal with a price that INCLUDED the bar. Doing a buffet with bar would have been $2.50 more per person. Azazie has gorgeous dresses for so much less and they are super super super about returns. (dresses there are like $200 as opposed to $2000!) And a lot of people on this site suggest a Friday or Sunday wedding, and also doing a lunch vs. dinner time frame.
Have FUN planning, do lots of research, and check on this site - so many great suggestions and insight.
