My FFIL hasn't had much input with the wedding. Well FH calls him one day just to talk and he asks "Why is your wedding on a Friday?" Then he goes on and on about how inconvenient that is and it's going to be hard for people to show up and get off work, blah blah blah. What are some negative...

What are some negative opinions that you received from family members about your wedding?

@Erica, our ceremony will start at 4, and be over by 11. I don't think it's late lol

Same thing as you, my whole family complains about my wedding being on a Friday. I can care less though, no one is helping us pay so we have the final say and by having our wedding on a Friday we actually saved about 5k.

FMIL told me that it stupid to have a wedding when we could put that money toward our future. This crazy woman hasnt put a penny into our wedding so she needs to SHUT THE FRONT DOOR..LOL

Also, my grandmother on my dad's side griped that I wasn't inviting my estranged father. He treats me like garbage, can't keep himself together and loses his cool easy we haven't seen each other in years yet she says he's my dad and I am wrong for not inviting him. I don't want to be stressed more than I need to, so I am standing my ground and not inviting him.

Kayla, thank you. We are really confident in our God. The things that God wants us to do to represent his love may seem strange to some, but honoring God after all that he has done for us is our privilege. We aren't worried about people thinking we are weird like my dad is. Heck, we are going barefoot because God had Moses remove his shoes in the Old Testament. We are doing this to represent that we are standing in God's presence much like Moses. God is the center of our future marriage. Everything else will be built around God and represent his love.

MissP- Hi almost date twin! I actually wanted your date but I moved it to friday to save money. I can't believe your mom is complaining about your date. You have every right not to invite him. It's YOUR wedding YOU chose who to invite to it and who you want there. You are not wrong for that at all

Alexis- Same here. We saved more than 2k by moving it to a Friday instead of a Saturday.

Blessed.com- uhm isn't a wedding investing money in your future? LOL the things people come up with.

Kelsey- that is beautiful and people don't have to like it but they have to respect it. Good for you for standing your ground on what is important to you and FH.
