Oriental Decoration

We both suck at anything decorative, and we don't like/can't afford most of the things we see. We finally agreed on a centerpiece idea and have pretty much been trying to build around that. The centerpiece had succulents and bamboo and we both like a lot if eastern design, but we also don't want to go overboard because we don't want to be cheesy and/or appropriating. I think we'll use eucalyptus too, but I don't know where to go otherwise. The two card boxes I showed him that seemed to fit and I liked, he didn't like. I was thinking maybe a lantern card box, but I can't find one. Otherwise I have NO clue how to decorate anything. Any ideas? (Not necessarily just oriental, but if it goes with succulents and bamboo) Our colors are burgundy and navy blue.

What were you gonna put the succulents and bamboos in? Like a jar or vase or something ? Maybe the container can be decorated in the style you’re hoping for

We suck at decorating too so we are not doing centerpieces at all. Instead we are putting some dice games on each table to entertain guests. We are big into games and this is a way to bring our guests into our world. Also decorations are expensive!

Using the term "oriental" is already a little sketch, ngl.
You can probably make a lantern-shaped card box yourself out of cardboard. Gold is prominent in Asian weddings, you could use gold as your metal tone.

Something like this might work for your cards! You can find these kind of things at Michael's, Target, Hobby Lobby or many other places. I also found this other inspiration, bamboo centerpieces might work but use flowers in your colors. Here's some cake inspo too! I'm loving the "naked" cakes with some greenery, so pretty. You can also use lanterns, succulents, or terrariums as centerpieces too. I hope this helps!
