Ordering Dress without trying it on

Stressed2Max, on March 6, 2017 at 8:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Has anyone ordered their wedding dress without being able to try it on? I have tried on a lot of dresses but none of them have everything I want. I finally found a dress that has every single thing I want but none of the stores in my area have it to try on. Would you guys go ahead and order it? Opinions needed!

**I would get the straps removed**

Yep! I ordered my dress online in two different sizes, and then returned the one that didn't fit as well. The waist on the one I did keep needs to be taken in a smidge, and I want to add a sash, but those are fairly minor alterations.

If you generally have an easy time fitting into standard sizes or know what to look for when ordering online, I think it's a great, hassle-free way to get your dress (and often it's cheaper than going to a boutique).

I'd want to try it on. That doesn't look like a structured material so it might show more than you're comfortable showing. Try calling different boutiques with the style number and designer of that dress. You might get lucky.

@Teresa I would still order it from a bridal store I just wouldn't see how I look in it.

I would try a dress on similar and see what size range you are so you aren't ordering multiples

I would check with the designer/store to see if the straps can be removed, some dresses need the straps for structure and keeping the garment up.

I would be leary of ordering online without trying it on first.

I didn't. Honestly I would be to scared. The material might not be right for your body type or it just might not flow the way you want it to. Good luck!!

I ordered mine before trying it on. It's pretty scary to do that. I don't recommend it. Is that a Morilee

(Madeline Gardner) dress? It looks like her style. Very pretty.

@Charlie J it is Mori Lee. I think I am going to try on dresses similar to it that they may have in stock.

Only if you've tried on similar fits and styles and liked them. There were some I liked online but once I tried them on- turns out those types looked horrible on me.

I ordered mine without trying it on but it was made to my measurements. It arrived and fit perfectly (except it was about 2" too long). Just getting it hemmed and couldn't be happier.

I think this is a bad idea. Dresses fit so differently. Can you be sure you will like it on you? Do they have a return policy? I would be afraid I would hate it as i had some picked out that i absolutely hated on myself
