Opinions on Spray tans!

Brittneylynn, on March 2, 2010 at 12:37 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

Would you or wouldn't you? Are all the scary tales true. Has anyone found one that looks real?

I decided against it, because I have heard that it looks fake and it rubs off! And who wants your tan to rub off on your white dress!

If you don't do it now, then don't do one for your wedding. You want to look like yourself on your big day.

I am doing one because I want to even out my tan, I have a swim class in which I already have a tan from the straps. I am doing a spray tan and the girl who told me said that at first you have to be careful, like right after the spray tan, but after that it wont rub off.

I have had one in the past for our winterfest dance and loved it! There are so many variations to the spray tan so there is no telling how you will look. There are machines that do it and there are people who spray it on themselves. The only way to tell is to do a trial run. Mine rubbed off when I first got it but then I was fine after I took a shower the next day (you have to wait 24 hours). So if you do want one I would try it now so that you can see how long it will last. If you do get one I would do it 2-3 days before the wedding so that you can take at least one shower in between to wash off the excess spray.

My old coworker used to do this, and they actually looked really good on her- since regular tanning was hard, she's burned too easily. She always did it two days before an event so it didnt rub off, but I dont know if that would be the case if it was really hot out- but it always looked natural on her.

If you don't tan now then doen't do it. Same with make up, if you usually don't wear it then don't go all out on your wedding day.You want to be timeless in your photos and look like yourself.

I don't think I would do it either as now with photography they can always add more color to your pictures if that is what you were thinking of. This one photosite I have actually has a sunless tanner that allows one to add more color if you look too pale. But I think I would go more natural and stick with makeup.

I wouldn't. I have fair skin and it just wouldn't look natural for me to do so.

I personally think it makes a person look orange.. haven't done it myself, just seen girls who have done it! I've started doing the normal fake bake, think it looks more natural!

I regularly tan and spray tan before events and love it! But like the pp said do a trial now. Also if you do the machine like mystic tan if you have fair skin i would suggest doing the lightly formula( there are two one lighter and one darker one).

When I used to be able to afford it, I did the spray tan and LOVED it! The place I went to used a machine, called VersaSpa. I found that I did not like adding the bronzer to my sessions, and I usually did the medium color (Versa had light, medium, and deep). I started with light, then moved up to medium. I highly suggest exfoliating well before hand and using a lot of moisturizer. This will help it last longer and fade more evenly. I recommend you do it about 2 days before the wedding, so you can shower. Mine would start to rub off on my chest after about 4 days, but I think it was partly due to the fact I was fake baking as well, and normal skin exfoliation. Definitely try it out first!

Thanks ladies!!! I think I might try it out before just to see what it looks like, but if it looks to much not like me, I won't do it for the weeding because you are all right, we need to look like ourselves!!!!
