Opinions on pandemic in 2021

Meghan, on June 17, 2020 at 1:28 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
My FH and I have picked May 22, 2021 for our wedding date. Planning a wedding during a pandemic has not been easy but we are optimistic that things will be different next year. What’s your opinion? Will there be more shutdowns a year from now?

It's hard to tell anything at all anymore to be honest. but i would still plan for your may 2021 wedding, if i were you. because life has to go on and not sit around and wait for a definitive answer because there may never be one, ya know?

It’s so hard when none of us know what the future holds. I personally don’t think there will be more shutdowns next year, but I also am not feeling confident there will be a vaccine at that point either because of the virus already mutating. I think the best we can do is move forward with our plans and hope for the very best! I think you’ll be able to have your wedding, and that we might just have to get used to some of the extra guidelines and safety measures for awhile.

If you're at all paying attention to the news, the one thing you will note that it will be hard pressed to see the WORLD (not just the US) shut down again as it would be an economic disaster.

So with that being said, we can't predict the future but hope that the experts are correct there should be a vaccination by year's end.

Our wedding is February 2021 and I'm more nervous about whether or not we'll still be able to go on our honeymoon. The wedding I'm not too worried about because whoever shows up, shows up. Our guest list is about 130 so even if we only end up with 50, I'm ok with that. I would really hate to have to postpone for a 3rd time (even though the other postponements were non-virus related).

If you keep trying to plan around this and this doesn't go away, you'd just be wasting time. If anything you guys can always do a micro/elopement and then host a big wedding or just a reception celebration if and when this decides to clear up enough that you know nothing will go wrong.

It's so impossible to predict, but with a little less than a year there's definitely lots of time for everyone to figure out how to best adjust wedding activities and best handle health concerns! ❤️

I've also seen several posts about 2021 concerns that you can read through here: 2021 wedding? and 2021 brides and Covid-19.

My wedding is March 13, 2021. I’m optimistic that we will be able to go forward with it. Ours is a small 30 guests wedding so I’m thinking we will be able to still have our wedding. I hope. It is frustrating not knowing for sure.
