My wedding is so so close and though I look ok, I don't look as fit and trim as I'd like.

I have PCOS and hypothyroidism, making it harder for me to lose weight. In high school and college and I was super thin and this condition crept up on me just 3 years ago.

I have an elliptical and I eat pretty healthy, but once in awhile when FH brings home something unhealthy it's hard for me ignore! Has anyone tried juicing? There's a juicery in my town but it's really expensive ($200 for a 3 day cleanse).

I'd like to try it for 2-3 weeks (and hope I can last that long!). Has anyone done a cleanse or juiced for a longer period? I'd love to hear your experiences.

Thanks guys! I will deff refrain from juicing.

I heard good things about Whole30, maybe I'll try that - it seems much more sustainable in the long run, which is what I want. Unfortunately, the medication I take for hypo is very rough on the stomach so I have to be careful about what food *react* with it, if you catch my drift.

Join Weight Watchers if you need constant support. It's been very helpful for me.

And eating under what your body needs can literally cause you to gain weight. I was "eating less" thinking that I would magically loose weight and I gained.. I now eat 2200+ calories a day and lift weights/cardio and I'm the healthiest I have ever been.

Not saying she needs to go out and eat 2200+ calories because I don't know what her body needs. No one does but a nutritionist. But saying "eat less" to someone who has no idea where to even start with being a healthier individual overall, can be dangerous. So, starting out with eating more vegetables than junk is definitely a good start.

Many women in my keto group on FB have reported success with their PCOS, but don't do keto just to lose weight. Research and decide if it's right for you as a way of life.

ETA: Low Carb Journey (Cooking Keto with Kristie) is the FB group I belong to

Whatever you "lose" while juicing you will immediately get back once you stop. You're depriving your body and what you lose will just be water weight! I know it seems tempting but the effects will not last, and you'll probably be miserable. Try to eat veggie based, only drink water (no juice or soda). Also I highly recommend weight training for definition. It will not make you bulky I promise

Thanks Jaclyn, I think seeing a nutritionist is a great idea so I don't make any wrong assumptions about what my body needs.

Catlady5x - I have 3 fur babies of my own Smiley smile I heard of BluePrint, but thank for sharing your experience, it sounds like juicing is a big waste of money!

Wishing the best for you! Even if you don't feel as lean as you would like to, you'll still be a beautiful bride!

Cleanising is a hoax. The body does that naturally and most juices contain more sugar than what you're going to be eating. Please don't waste your money!!

Exercise (more than elliptical - lift some weights!) and Whole 30/paleo will be likely be your best option for long and short term, especially with PCOS and thyroid issues. Do your research and talk to a pro. Good luck!

I wouldn't juice all the time. There are lots of sugars with it. You're better off eating your calories than drinking them!

Don't do it with PCOS. I did a 5 days cleanse and it made me flare up like a mad woman. Cut sugar, processed foods, low carbs, high protein, try and do 15 minutes cardio everyday.

Your body will think it's starving and that could actually lower your metabolism.

I have thoughts on juicing. They go like this "Mmmm. Juice. Orange juice. Cranberry juice. Guava juice. I love all of them. Especially with champagne."

But just drinking juice to lose weight? So much nope.

I second the weight watchers comment! It's the only thing that has worked for me balancing my diet and encouraging me to make better food choices. There is an online community that is awesome (I get confused between WW(wedding wire) and WW(weight watchers) though lol.

I've lost quite a few inches using Beachbody on Demand. I'm in an accountability group, and it totally keeps me motivated and accountable! The group is free to join, and I think On Demand is $99 for a year. I believe you can try 30 days for free. They even have A healthy food show and for the recipes. I used to think it was a scam when I would get contacted by coaches, but then my best friend started doing it, and now I am hooked. It has totally worked for me, and has definitely become a lifestyle!
