Opinions on if this is a good price for a wedding package

Sara, on February 20, 2020 at 2:31 PM Posted in Planning 1 19

Hello!

I have been searching around for a while for wedding packages, vendors, and venues and I honestly keep running into road block after road block because everything adds up so quickly...

My Fiancé and I have been on the fence on whether we want to actually spend the money and have all the bells and whistles, or if we just go ahead and Elope.

I figured that maybe finding an all exclusive wedding package would be ideal so that it takes out all the stress of planning logistics, but I wouldn't know if the deals they offer are good or not.

This is a package that I just received and I was wondering if anyone could provide insight on if this is a good deal or not??

We appreciate you taking the time to look it over and give your honest opinions! Please let me know if you have any questions or if the information is not clear.

Many Blessings,

Sara & Scott

Sounds pretty good to me ! If you’re thinking about whether it’s cheaper to do separate parts yourself, it can be but this package seems pretty standard in price and they include a lot

I forgot to mention but my bff is doing a package and she was able to take out things she didn’t want to reduce the price so maybe you can see if they’d let that happen

    Melle,

Yes, that is what I was trying to ask lol. If it was cheaper to piece it out, or to go with this all inclusive route. Seems like when I have been trying to piece it out, it has added up fairly quickly and with a lot let options than this package. Plus, the food options included in this package I feel might just be worth it!

Thank you so much for your comment!

Is the food included in the $12k price or is it priced extra? It’s hard to tell from this. Also remember sales tax and service charge will add another few thousand!

This is really good package. You’d just have to find a photographer, a cake, a dj and your outfits. You can find a good photographer, dj, and bakery on the thumbtack app for affordable prices. They also have hair and Make up artists there. If you like the venue I’d go with it.

Food is included. We can choose from either the Gold, Silver or Bronze menu included in the pictures.

My next question of concern is the fact that we only have 4.5 hours for the ceremony and reception. They have an option to add an additional hour. But they have not gotten back to me yet on the cost of that hour. I really want to be able to relax on our wedding day, and not feeling rushed. That's my fear. Plus, I have heard ao many brides say they didn't even have a chance to eat at their wedding, I REFUSE to spend all this money, and not even be able to enjoy it.

Okay! I just saw that bronze, gold, and silver food were all different prices so I wasn’t sure how that worked with it supposedly being the same price all together.

We are getting the same with the addition of a bit more food, open bar for the entire event, and the 3 tier wedding cake for $108000 (plus tax and gratuity) in Northern NJ. We also have 30 min ceremony, 60 min cocktail hour, and 4 hour reception so 5.5 hours.

After 20% service fee and 7% tax if you have 100 people that comes to $154.08/person.

If there's things you want to cut out it might be cheaper to piece together a package especially if you go the $36/route and then add on 4 hours of beer and wine for $32 that comes to $87 after fees. It just comes down to what you want and what you want to spend.

Just don't forget to add on the 20% and then the 7% as that makes a big difference.

If you don’t have overly long vows and a huge wedding party you can have a 15 min ceremony and 45 min cocktail hour. And that leaves 3.5 hours to party. I think that would suffice. That’s like going to the restaurant/bar at 10pm and leaving at 2am. I did pay an extra 5$pp I believe for an extra hour at my venue.

Since food & two hours of the bar are included, that seems super reasonable as long as the venue has good reviews and is in good condition. If it's in budget for you guys, I think it looks great! Our venue fee after military discount was $9,900 and that included chairs & tables for 200, bridal & groom's suite, and 12 hours of use. It didn't include food, drinks, coordinator, centerpieces, golf, linens, china, etc. so I think it's a great deal. Our whole wedding was 6 hours but we have been to plenty that were 5 hours and been fine, our ceremony was 20 minutes or so. I'd pick another venue you guys like and price everything out individually too, to see how close pricing is. I imagine it's pretty close or it wouldn't make sense for anyone to pick the venue.

I think it's a pretty good price, most of the venues we looked at that did packages that way were a little more expensive (our final venue has a $15k minimum plus $3k for reception so we are about $18k for all those things you have listed, plus tax and service charge). Just be sure to consider that additional service charge because that's an additional $2400 just for the service charge, then there's still tax.

This seems like a pretty reasonable package. We chose an all inclusive venue because even though it seems like a lot to see it all at once, it does end up being cheaper compared to paying for everything separately. Like you said, if we went with a venue that wasn't all inclusive we could keep it about the same price as the inclusive one but with a lot less of the "extras" that we want. Also, the coordinator and the set up and break down are two huge things that can be costly or require a friend or family member to do, whereas the inclusive venue includes it and you don't have to sacrifice any time with the people that you want by your side all day.

Where are you located? Price is so dependent on location. I am from just outside of DC and this would be pretty reasonable there. I am living in Omaha now and this would be outrageously priced here.

That’s a good deal bc all that is included in your package. I have a similar package and my cost was $13000. We have a 30 minutes ceremony one hour cocktail and 4 hour reception. Food is included for cocktail hour and reception, open bar, we use their decor and other things

    Yes! It's wonderful!

Just know it's closer to 15K after taxes and service fees. Still a great deal!

These are great prices! The packages include a lot and you can pick different levels of included services/food. It makes your whole life easier when you book with all inclusive venues. Just make sure you like this venue and you trust the people working there. Also if possible to try to food before booking to make sure you like. What sold us on our venue was trying the food.

Keep in mind that you need to multiply everything all food /beverage related costs by 1.3 (to cover taxes and gratuity). And also what’s NOT included: flowers, decor, officiant fee, musicians for processional, photography, videography, makeup and hair, MC or DJ for the evening, etc. Once you add those things in, would you prefer to spend that on the wedding or just elope? If you elope you can spend that money on reallly good photo and video and a long honeymoon instead. So the money will be spent on only you 2!! Enjoy pampering yourselves only or spend similar/smaller amount on hosting 100ish people. Both can be fun, just what are your priorities?
