Opinion on these center pieces

Miosotys, on August 5, 2019 at 11:17 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23
Backyard Elopement Celebration - February 29th 2020.
Semi casual laid back event.

Thoughts on these? Ugly, okay, great - too fancy to plain? The picture will be our engagement photos frames and a tad bigger.
Also - tips on February decor? I’m lost. I feel like this is too Christmasy?

Our colors scheme is grey with gold and white accents. And then a little of brown. Trying to DIY a lot as we are on a tight budget.

I really like your centerpieces! They don't look too Christmas, in my opinion. Love the polaroids you're including!

I'd probably make them more wintery looking. You could get some fresh pine or balsam or cedar from the woods spray snow dust or glitter on them to make it look flocked. Kind of weave the greenery around the candle and the jar to soften the look or artificial- Dollar tree will have some snow covered branches probably will be out soon it's Aug🤷lol. They also have ribbon. You could intertwine ribbon through the branches too. You could get some white blooms, again dollar tree to nestle in the branches.

Oh, got it! Idea popped into my brain. Get Christmas garland from dollar tree and cut it into strips to weave around and soften things. They may have some with snow. You could also put snowflakes throughout the greenery. It will look like a woodsy winter theme not like Christmas.

Hi date twin! Your centerpieces aren’t bad at all, but I’d add some greenery or grey ribbon to them to bring them all together! The centerpieces look a little Christmasy after you mentioned that, but I wouldn’t have thought that before. These are the centerpieces & votives I bought for our wedding! They’ll be sitting on a navy table runner. The tables will also have gold chargers on them to fill up the rest of the space.

I think the winter look is great, February is still winter and still hella cold. As far as the center piece I thing it is missing something, either you should put something wrapping around the wood like garland or the light wood doesn’t go, like maybe you should stain it darker, it needs more

I like the simplicity, but not a fan of the color of the boards everything is sitting on. I get your color scheme, but I would add more white and gold. Maybe do a gray or whitewash on them.

I agree that I prefer the darker wooden boards (and might slightly prefer if they were round), but overall I think they look really nice! I think as long as you don't add in any red, it will read as wintery and not Christmasy.

I think they look really great!

Perhaps you could tie some grey ribbon around the candle to tie it in with the rest of your wedding decor. I don't think it looks too Christmassy though!

Thank you! The centerpieces already have the flowers in them (the previous bride DIYed it), but we’re getting our florist to change out some of the flowers so it looks less springy. 😊

I’d add little frames for the photos to dress them up, you can find ones that small at the dollar store and they come in pretty colors like gold.

I could do this as well. My table cloths are floor length grey with a white sheer runner.

I really like them. I like how each one has its own style, but still coordinate with one another.

I think they're nice but is there something that'll hold the photo better ? Just in case it plops over and falls

I was thinking the same as Melle. Maybe doing a gold holder for the photos? Maybe something like below? These look great! It doesn't remind me of Christmas very much either!

This is good too instead of picture frames. I’m defiantly doing some sort of holder for the photos just was trying to get a general idea of what the center pieces will look like before I went through with them.
